Revisiting this kit after briefly starting it 35 years ago. Decided to go for a little more realism on the 430 V8 by cutting off the fuel pump, used some wire & polyester putty to reshape the front/cover water pump, scratch built the P/S pump, reservoir & A/C compressor, belts & pulleys and dipsticks for oil, auto trans and P/S, and finally adding the oil filler tube. More to come. Will look better with paint.

Thanks Kah puts!

More progress on the engine. Coolant/heater lines; fuel pump, filter and line to carb; throttle linkage and return springs; and getting most of the basic paint done. Black does hide some of the details, but it is the correct color for the ‘65 430 V8. Next up: distributor, coil, plug wires, expansion tank and air cleaner. Won’t be able to do any more wiring or lines until the engine is in the chassis.

Engine for the '65 Lincoln kit done except installing the air cleaner. The air cleaner was big on these cars so wanted to get some pictures before a lot of details get covered.
The kit did not include the A/C compressor, P/S pump & reservoir with belts and pulleys, oil fill tube, dipsticks for oil, trans fluid & P/S fluid, coolant & fuel lines, fuel filter, distributor vacuum line, throttle linkage & springs and ignition coil. Those were scratch built. Also made a "Motorcraft" decal for the oil filter. The fuel pump and coolant expansion tank needed to be relocated to be accurate for the 1965 430 V8.
Since it is mostly black, I decided to use red plug & coil wires to break up all the black. I think I got the firing order right!

Interior done on the AMT ‘65 Lincoln convertible. Added home made arm rests, interior door handles, power window switches, gas, brake and e-brake pedals and the turn signal & column shift lever. Also added the carpeting. Really wanted a more turquoise color but oh well.

Great job, , as a kid my friend's parents bought a new 65 in white, a hardtop.  They were rich might I add and I went to baseball practice one morning and his mom picked us up in it and it was the first car I had ridden in with a/c.  It felt so good on a hot July Indiana day.   I have always been tempted to built this kit .    Looking forward to your updates.

Finally finished. Some imperfections here and there by me. The molds must have been getting tired when this kit was issued back in the late ‘80’s as there were issues that I did my best to correct. Was able to get all the engine bay A/C, fuel, brake and coolant lines done. Oddly this kit did not include mirrors so I mined my parts stash and found the closest I could get. Added the antenna made from aluminum tube. Thanks for looking.
