I decided to use bare metal foil for the bed strips. I don’t really love this stuff, too fragile IMHO, but it should be ok in the bed. I usually use Molotov through an airbrush and wait a few days to carefully clear. No fear of it ever pealing. I painted the underside braces satin black.

I also assembled the interior and tested the gauge lights.

BMF can be a pain to work with but I think it still has it's uses. It looks good on the bed strips.

The LEDs really add some pop to the interior! ??

Beautiful work! I haven't cut open doors yet. I cut open trunks just so I have a place to hide the LED battery, trying to make it look like a spare. Still have to figure out how I am going to hide the battery for this kit.

I think I'd try to hide it in the stock fuel tank, maybe leave the back open enough for the battery box. I think using a watch battery in parallel, (C2016 it's a thin wafer and would be very easy to hide and wire. A tiny push on/off switch could be hidden and activated by using a fabricated gas cap/filler pipe. Gonna be a very beautiful p-cup when you get it all finished.

Thank you! I actually posted, it is the spare tire under the truck, very well hidden. :)

That bed looks nice Donald and the dash lights are killer man.

Thanks, now moving on to wet sanding and polishing. It looks a lot smoother than it really is. This is going to take hours...

Getting close but calling it a night but next Novus 2 then Novus 1 and a ceramic coating. Wet sanding and polish takes a lot of work and time.

Thanks, I started with a little Novus 2 for a bit this morning. I think it is going to come out pretty well when I am done polishing. Definitely going to be more on the over restored look than factory paint. :D

Amazing work, can't wait to see this in the under glass section.

Thanks, probably another week or so I think left. :)

I did get some assembly work done today. I was worried about the interior after attaching the lower panels to smooth  and paint so the cab wouldn’t have a seam, but it actually went in pretty well. Started installing the LED wiring, glass and attached the cab to the frame.

Hi Donald! Well… I’m a little late to the party here, but WOW!! Another beautiful build sir. Excellent colour choice and love your lighting.

Cheers, Steve

That is turning out to be a nice looking old AD truck Donald.  Great engine detail and the paint is spot on.

Really cool build. The lights are impressive. I thought about putting light in models many times, but chickened out every time. LOL. I would love to learn how to do it. You should make a tutorial.
