STU111 Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 G’day everyone. Did this one some time ago. Great kit, went together nicely with no issues. Decided to do it as a weathered farm truck with slight surface rust. Tried the salt weathering method inside the load area and mud and dust washes and compounds on the underside. Thanks for looking, any comments welcome. ?? Cheers, Stu. 9
Intmd8r Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Looks well used-the way a work truck should be. nice weathering 1 1
stavanzer Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 That looks Great, Stu! My Dad had a '61, and that's how his looked about 20 years ago. You really got it right. Good Show. 1 1
James2 Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 When I read the title, I expected to see a tubbed-out pickup with a camper shell and a big block, I was pleasantly surprised by your real subject. The clean build, perfect colors and finish are spot on. The lettering and weathering are done just enough to appear realistic. It's a fine model, thanks for sharing. 1 1
Zippi Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Nice looking 60 Chevy pickup Stuart. Great weathering job. 1 1
STU111 Posted July 25, 2024 Author Posted July 25, 2024 Thank you everyone for your kind comments on the pickup. I find it probably harder to do one “beat up “ a bit than a smooth, shiny finish. I’ve got a few pickup truck kits in the stash now, and will certainly be building a couple of these in well used condition. Thanks again. Cheers, Stu. 1

And the neat part, my step-grandfather had a real one that could have been the one you used as your reference. DJ 1 1
DJMar Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Really sweet, very clean build. The weathering is spot on. I have to respect the fact that you used the stock hubcaps & tires! This is one of my favorite AMT kits of all time, even with its shortcomings. 1 1
Biggu Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 outstanding ! Spot on ! And bone stock too, what a refreshing build, take a bow !! Jeff 1
