Nazz Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 It is with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to our Sugar Rae Saturday morning. She was only with us for 10 years when the vet told us her organs were shutting down and it would be better for her to leave us. She had an active life and even last Saturday she was playing agility and enjoying life. My wife and I did notice she seemed to be carrying extra weight. As it turned out , she had fluid build up in her abdomen caused by here liver and kidneys not working properly. The vet remove 1.3 liters of fluid before she started to come out of the anesthesia. Sugar had a pretty active life and eared many awards in dog sports. Mostly in agility, but also in barn hunt. The first photo was taken the morning she went to the vet for the last time. The second photo was taken the day we found her. It is hard to believe we found her on the street 10 years ago . She was about 4 months old then. Goodbye my sweet girl, until we meet again. Jerry 3

TonyK Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Good looking dog and some great photos. I feel for you as I'm still not over our 2 dogs from a year ago.
webestang Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Very sorry to hear. RIP Sugar. My sister and bro-in-law had to put their 2nd doggie down a couple of weeks ago. His name was Louie and he was 14 years old. 1
JollySipper Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 It's not fair that they don't live any longer than they do! We really don't deserve dogs, they are willing to give so much.......... 1 1
HomerS Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Condolences from me and my three furry step kids. I've had to do it three times but the wife is a nurse so she made the final drive as it ripped my heart out. Thank you for giving her a wonderful life.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Sorry. But she had a loving home, and gave love in return. It doesn't get much better than that.
slusher Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 I am sorry for the loss of you friend and family member. Animals have sweet souls. Be prepared if one gets sent your way again because they are gifts from God. Now I’m writing with tears in my eyes. She had a home and family and love and she gave love in return..
Roger U Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 It's very sad when they leave. She had a good home and a happy life.

Mike C Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Sorry to hear that. Dogs are so precious. He looks a little like my dog that I grew up with.
Nazz Posted August 16, 2024 Author Posted August 16, 2024 Thank you all for your kind replies. They are appreciated very much. She was a very special girl. My wife had a great time playing with Sugar. I know the pain will lessen as time passes, but I still talk about Kodi and Rocky, our first dogs. Lots of memories. Again, thank you all for the kind words of support, Jerry
