I think the Olds is an excellent choice, Bob.

Thanks Jim.  I'm still looking at other engine options for the business end on this build.

That’s a hell of a finish on your 1:1 - lots of care went into polishing that out!

Thanks Brian.  Yeah, that's why I need to get this touch up job as close as possible.  I'll be shooting the red on this morning.

Nice start Bob, stance looks good. Any of those engines would look great in there.

I hear ya Greg.  Thanks man.

I had a little time at the bench yesterday and made a little progress.  I now have the chassis modified to except these Big ole meats.  I think I'll leave the tires in the rear exposed in the bed as I'm adding a bed cover.  Just need to get a game plan on how to mount the blown engine in the business end.

Wow Bob I almost missed this, I knew that kit was in good hands. I like what your doing here!

Thanks Roger.  You know I love the Pro Street trucks.

Like always, I can't decide on a color.  I was looking over the paint I had on hand and when your not sure black will work in a pinch. I'll let this set for a few days then throw some 2K Urethane clear on it.

Super smooth and glossy.

Thanks David.  I'm hoping the small amount of bright work on this pickup will be enough to tone down all that black.

That is a very cool start and I'm sure it'll turn out great!

Now that I see Texas 3D's supercharged FE engine, I wish I'd have bought one, it looks fantastic and that's what I'd use in a vintage Ford build, but whatever you choose will be great!

Fellows, I decided to not shoot any clear on the body so I waxed it up and I have started the assembly process on this one.  I painted the rotors a flat brass and the front glass has been installed but now I'm thinking I want to foil the trim around the windshield.

I popped the windshield back out and foiled the trim around the windshield.  Better look and takes away from all that black.

No need for a clear coat on that paint job!
this is looking really good so far. Can’t wait to see the finished product .

Good choice on not clearing. Can't see that it would have improved and potentially might have messed up a strategy paint job.

Thanks man.  I don't thiink the clear would have helped much either.

I got a little more completed so I guess any work is moving forward.  I got the back of the truck buttons up and I believe I'm done with the interior tub.  I still need to do a little detail work on the firewall and I'll be ready to install the engine.  This kit comes with a trailer so I'm going to add the trailer hitch and have this truck pulling a drag car to the track.
