rv1963 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Hi guys and girls the street beater is finished, I think it was one of the most fun models I have ever put together, not perfect but I really enjoyed every minute. There are plenty of pictures as always all comments welcome. 12
espo Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Like the distressed finish, lots of creativity.
Bullybeef Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I‘m impressed with your realism on the weathering, I’d say it looks like a car from Newfoundland, but those cars have long been scrapped, crushed and have come back as various iterations of Hyundais. Well done!
89AKurt Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I love PATINA! Rust stain just right on the white door. Some kits beg for this sort of treatment. ?
catpack68 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) Love the weathering and the plastic on the rear side window! Very nice work? Edited September 8, 2024 by catpack68
karbuildr Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Excellent weathering, particularly the rust and broken window.
rv1963 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Thanks Kurt, Scott and David for your comments.
KWT Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Robert, I dig the way that came out. The weather is nice and that window treatment is cool. Very nicely done!
rv1963 Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 Thanks Jeremy thanks Eric I am glad you like it.
mrm Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Pretty cool. The nylon window held by duct tape is my favorite.
carrucha Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Nice beater. I see a Nova like this on the way home from work rotting away in a driveway.
rv1963 Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 Thanks guys for all the great comments.
DJMar Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 (edited) This is a really great build, with a lot of cool & subtle weathering. I totally dig it. ? A friend of mine in college had a similar '79 Nova in blue, complete with the long rear shackles and wide tires. It wasn't quite as beat up as this, but it was close! XYHARRY Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Great weathering and creativity, well done Robert. Cheers, David. ??
rv1963 Posted September 12, 2024 Author Posted September 12, 2024 Thanks guys, I really enjoyed building this one.
STU111 Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Poor little Nova’s had a hard life. You’ve replicated the neglect and abuse that cars like this are subjected to beautifully. ??
