Zippi Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 (edited) I decided to go ahead and pulled this one back out and finish it even though I didn't like the ride height of the front wheels. I was going to give it a two tone paint job but just didn't like how the masking was going so I aborted that idea quickly. I ended up painted it a Tamiya TS-38 Gun Metal and there is no clear over this paint. All of the bright work was re-chromed using the chrome from a Molotow pen and shooting it through my airbrush. The interior was painted the same as the body and the seat trim was painted silver. This build is pretty much box stock except I did wire the engine. SpikeSchumacher Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Great save on this one Bob. Looks good!
stinkybritches Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Very nice, Bob. I always enjoy your builds. Two thumbs up.
atomicholiday Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 You nailed the stance on this one! Great color and execution too. ?
TransAmMike Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Very good looking wagon Buddy. Paint came out really nice and with no clear. Great job?
espo Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Beautiful looking paint finish and color. Depending on the lighting sometimes it looks almost as if it is a two tone. I think this is because of the high metallic content of the paint. The body trim is all done very cleanly. Like the stance and ride height. In real life if it was any lower you might have a hard time turning. Great engine detailing.

STU111 Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 G’day Bob, despite the trouble this one gave you it turned out really well. That’s a great looking wagon there. ??
ncbuckeye67 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 That's a beautiful build! Great color choice too. I picked up this latest release while on vacation this summer. Now I have each version (maybe your build will be the inspiration I need to get one going)!

David G. Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 I think the ride height looks fine, not too far from factory stock. The color is great too, Tamiya Gunmetal is one of my favorites. I used it on my '59 Chrysler Imperial. Nice work. David G.
