Leica007 Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Picked up this kit off ebay for about 1/2 price to build for Jenny. Built from memory. All the MGB kits i found were right hand drive, so the dash and pedals had to be moved, which turned out to be less difficult than expected. This the second Japanese kit i have done and the molded glass top/windows is unique to paint (careful masking required). Took me about a month to do this, flocked floor, airbrushed craft paints, wheels from parts bin (close to what she had) and BMF trim on window frame & side stripe (2d attempt with BFM). It was a fun kit to build even though the instruction are in Japanese and the diagrams are not detailed. Thanks for looking and dcmments welcome. This is a shot of the dash mod and the finished interior 11
89AKurt Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 You didn't stuff a V8 in? ? Good job getting it built, more than I've done for about 18 months. A subject I am sort of tempted with, but want the GT. Was there a right mirror for the door?
Leica007 Posted October 20, 2024 Author Posted October 20, 2024 This was a curbside kit of a rally version and I didn't want to do an engine modification (Jenny just wanted a model of what she had). Yes there was a rt side mirror that went into another dimension.
XYHARRY Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Very nice MGB there Lei, your Jenny should be very pleased with that. Really well done. Cheers, David. ??
Chinacar Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 I did one in the beginning of the year in the exact colour combo. I kept the wire wheels though I prefer your Rostyle wheels. Well done Lei 1
Ken Car-Fanatic Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Very nice, great job on the left-drive conversion too. Curious if this is an Aoshima kit? I've always been a fan of the MG-B's & these look really good. Nice job.
espo Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Great looking MGB. The interior turned out very well moving the steering and changing the dash.
Phildaupho Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Very nice MG. I have a lot of fond memories being a passenger in an MGB in the mid 1960s

Leica007 Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 Thanks for looking and I appreciate you all taking the time to comment. Great bunch of people on here.
Chinacar Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I used TAMIYA clear red and yellow on the inside of the lens. 1
Bainford Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Very nice B. Classic colour combo. Looks great in blue. I built one of these a few years ago and quite enjoyed, aside from the windscreen with the molded in frame. 1
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Cool build! I like how you converted it to left hand drive! 1

Ragtop Man Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Nice, the Brit roadsters are overlooked by the hobby in general. Very surprised, in fact, that we have yet to see a modern-tool Healey roadster in 4- or 6-cylinders, TR-4/6, DB4-5 stock and drophead... But that's just me and I could be wrong about that. 1
