kensar Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Great detail on this model, Andrew. Exceptional result, especially considering the base kit. My only experience with UMI models was a Porsche 908 - nothing was straight or square on it.
MarkJ Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Andrew, I don't know how I missed this for so long. Been waiting with bated breath to look at the finals. Very awesome build and a great tribute to the guy that made the kit so many years ago. You should definitely be proud of this one. Let me also say that I enjoy the history you provide about these cars. I love motor racing history no matter what the subject matter is.
absmiami Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 Thanks MJ - i have the good fortune of living in Miami - so for a number of years i could - for about 30 bucks - show up at the Cavallino track event in palm beach gardens on an early friday morning and just wander thru the paddock - no crowds - and trip over old race cars - like this one - tougher to do now - gotta know somebody - but we still have the great concours and in Florida and random vintage events at the tracks throughout the state - not to mention Rev’s and the Brumos Collection !  Its the ONLY thing that i still like about this nutty state …

I'm very jealous. Nothing like that around here to look at except livestock at the rodeo in the spring which I avoid like the plague. They built our NFL stadium with the rodeo in mind more than actual NFL football. The retractable roof is so small and high it's not really worth opening. You don't need a retractable roof for the rodeo. I too live in a nutty state.
Phildaupho Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Congratulations on a gorgeous model of such a significant Ferrari in so many ways.
jaymcminn Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Dang Andrew, I somehow missed that this long strange trip had reached its conclusion. Every bit of the extra work you put into this replica shows!
Straightliner59 Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 (edited) I'm slow, but I catch on. I somehow missed the end of this show! You did a ton of fixing, on this thing. It was well worth it! Time for a nice Sunday drive! Beautiful work, Andy! Would you allow me to share your photos in a Rush group? Edited December 20, 2024 by Straightliner59
absmiami Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 The answer is yes But post the Rush group link here pl …
echo Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Andy brought this model to our last December meeting. It's a stunning model worthy of all the praise it has gotten on this forum. Nice work Andy, exceptional attention to details.
cifenet Posted January 18 Posted January 18 The level of details is just mind blowing. Â Incredible work!
