Like how the scoop just does stick thru the hood.

Thanks.  Yeah, it came out pretty good.  I already knew the bug catcher would fit through the stock hole in the hood so I'm good to go.

Guys...I finally got back on the 41 Willy's pickup.  My decals came in for the 57 Ford Sedan Gasser so I needed to finish that build up.  Not much to report, I did get the tires painted and assembled, the chassis has been setup and I did a trial fit of the body to make sure I got the rear axle housing in the right position.

Great colour for your build!  Scary to imagine the handling of a real pickup like this with the power you have planned for up front!

Great color!

I love that short bed!

Dave

Thanks Dave.  Yeah, it's a shorty for sure.  Should look pretty kewl with that big ole nasty BBC setting in the business end.

Note much to report on this build fellows.  There's been a lot going on that's prevented me from being at the work bench.  I did manage to get the decals put on the tires and I now have a rolling chassis.  I got the Blown BBC cleaned up and washed this morning so it's ready to paint.

Great choice with the engine,  I'm dealing with the same issue with my current build. The paint and chassis look killer on this. 👍

Thanks Johny.  I appreciate it Buddy.

I got the Blown BBC painted, assembled, and got the plug wires installed in the block.  Waiting for everything to dry before running the plug wires to the distributor.

Great looking motor Bob!

Thanks Steve.  It's ok...I'm starting to think I should have went with billet chrome.

Well...after getting the engine assembled and doing a trial fit of the body over the chassis I found out real quick I had a problem.  I didn't take into consideration the distributor sticking out front so far and hitting the body.  I had to move the engine back and that meant the hole in the hood would have to be relocated.  It's all good, got it fixed and ready for some primer and topcoat.

Great looking save on the hood issue.

Thanks David.  If I have enough paint left I'm going to repaint the whole body again to make sure it matches.

Got the hood back in primer and I'm satisfied with how it looks now.  Tomorrow looks like a pretty good day so I'll make a trip to the hobby shop for some more paint just to be on the safe side.  Don't want to run out right in the middle of spraying.

Good save with the hood. That big block really stands out in the pictures. I like the "less flashy" look of it against that body color. The white headers set it off perfectly.

Thanks man.  Yup, flashy is just not needed on some builds.
