Zippi Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 Guys...I finally got back on the 41 Willy's pickup. My decals came in for the 57 Ford Sedan Gasser so I needed to finish that build up. Not much to report, I did get the tires painted and assembled, the chassis has been setup and I did a trial fit of the body to make sure I got the rear axle housing in the right position. 4 1
BK9300 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Great colour for your build! Scary to imagine the handling of a real pickup like this with the power you have planned for up front!

They are a hand full but what a rush right 😁

Zippi Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 Note much to report on this build fellows. There's been a lot going on that's prevented me from being at the work bench. I did manage to get the decals put on the tires and I now have a rolling chassis. I got the Blown BBC cleaned up and washed this morning so it's ready to paint. 7 1
johnyrotten Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Great choice with the engine, I'm dealing with the same issue with my current build. The paint and chassis look killer on this. 👍

Zippi Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 I got the Blown BBC painted, assembled, and got the plug wires installed in the block. Waiting for everything to dry before running the plug wires to the distributor. 11
slusher Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Looking great Bob, you have another Willy’s near completion and very clean work!

Zippi Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 (edited) Well...after getting the engine assembled and doing a trial fit of the body over the chassis I found out real quick I had a problem. I didn't take into consideration the distributor sticking out front so far and hitting the body. I had to move the engine back and that meant the hole in the hood would have to be relocated. It's all good, got it fixed and ready for some primer and topcoat. Edited February 2 by Zippi 4

Zippi Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Got the hood back in primer and I'm satisfied with how it looks now. Tomorrow looks like a pretty good day so I'll make a trip to the hobby shop for some more paint just to be on the safe side. Don't want to run out right in the middle of spraying.

Good save with the hood. That big block really stands out in the pictures. I like the "less flashy" look of it against that body color. The white headers set it off perfectly.
