Lately at night Drones with blinking and running lights are flying over different parts of New York and New Jersey. There are all sorts of conspiracy theories out there. Here is mine.

I think that members of Drone Clubs are just having fun Jerking us around. One reason is that they are flying with lights on so that they can be seen.

I think it's aliens disguised as drones.

EDIT: And the gubmint knows and is complicit, making everyone think they're really gubmint craft, as everyone in gubmint is lizard creatures anyway, like Mr. Faceborg.

0 chance of that, they would have been taken down very quickly. The fact that the Feds said "don't worry about it" confirms they belong to the govt. No way they would let people fly drones around like that

Co-worker of mine was talking of "plasmoids" (spelling?)escaping some lab in jersey, they dive into conspiracy and the like pretty often. As for me, as long as e.t. or whomever it is, don't show up in my neck of the woods (im surrounded by forest) I'm good and they're safe.

Hey, it they are drones you have the right to shoot them down. It's against the law in New York to fly a drone over private property without permission.

I wasn't aware of that

Actually, under federal law shooting aircraft is a felony, unmanned drones or anything else.

Or this, I need to read up on some things I suppose

Thanks to both of you, always good to be informed.  Laws change year to year, and the difference between federal and state laws on the same subject sometimes are humorous.  Not that I would do anything as irresponsible as that.

If one does fall from the sky we would find out who was behind them, maybe. Lol

The Question I have you know the law but would it stop you if it was hovering over your place? No need to answer Bill.

Of course, one problem with shooting drones is if they're camera-equipped and their streaming imagery is being recorded remotely, it wouldn't take long for law enforcement to find the shooter. Theoretically...  ;)

On another note, anyone have an idea as to what it could actually be? Curious as to what you all think. Usually I ignore the day to day goings on of the world, this humorous,  and interesting to me. It's like an x files episode. Lol

Mabe just people with too much time on their hands a warped sense of humor. About five years ago my wife and I were enjoying the sunset on our back porch with an adult beverage when we got buzzed by a drone. By the time I was able to reposition myself on our other deck with a 12 gauge it was leaving the area. I think I may have been seen by the drone since we never saw one in the area again.

There aren't any drones. It's just people who've forgotten what the night sky looks like or maybe don't realise that you can see the approach lights of landing aircraft from 40 miles away if they are pointed in the right direction. There are no more fleets of drones over New York and New Jersey than there were fleets of saucers over the US in 1947...

It has to be our government. They are flying over military bases etc., which hobby drones are restricted from.

One year a drone enthusiast wanted to do a flyover at NNL East and do a video of how our line wraps around the building. He asked us permission and we were cool with it. Then he found it was restricted space because there was a government contractor building across the railroad tracks.

theres been drones over us bases in england too. i think it will turn out to be an ai based security drone system being tested for military bases. they seem a lot more worried about the drones over here and yours started in greater numbers not long after ours made the news. adding two and two gets me to testing a system that was already close to ready because the need for it got greater. or it might just be josh gates filming another ghost show....
