With that tiny nozle how do you set ut up when printing so you get the detail good. i have had several tiny parts to fail.

Printing such small parts is a challenge, and I'm definitely not a print expert; so for my settings, I just use factory settings on the printer (Elgoo Saturn 3 8k) for Elgoo's 8k resin. Typically, I'll set-up the part on the build plate at 45° or even 0°, depending on the design of the part. At times, I'll print the same part, such as a tire valve stem, at both angles to find which is best. If they all print successfully, then I have them in stock for future builds already.
tooltime-fan Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Bodyshell painted, foiled and cleared. Paint ist Rosso Granada ... I think IT suits the car and the Chrome well 5
White Rabbit Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I just received some paint from Gravity Colors: Light Grey Primer, Gloss Clear, and Renault Jaune Tournesol (Sunflower Yellow). This will be my first time airbrushing a body. Until now, I've airbrushed all the other parts, so I thought it was time to go for it. 2
White Rabbit Posted April 10 Posted April 10 1971 Cadillac Coupe DeVille vs 1971 Renault Alpine (both 1/24 scale) The Cadillac is intended to represent the 1972 Cannonball winner. I just need to make updated front and rear bumpers to reflect the 1972 model year. 3
MeatMan Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Well I got the interior done so I decided to check the fit of the body with most everything in place. But in spite of doing it multiple times to get to this point, things aren't lining up. I tried to pull the body apart a bit but only wound up separating the front end from the body. I hate adding body parts after painting but it looks like what I'll need to do. To get to that point, I'll need to refine the surfaces of both, and add tabs to the front end to glue to. There's no way around it because I have to be able to open the body up in the front to get around the wheel wells. Ditto the firewall. I'll have to add it to the body after paint because I can't get the body around it. Also, there is interference in the back where the interior tub sits against the rear of the body. You can see it in the 4th pic. I think some grinding there is in order. I just hope I don't grind through the body somehow. Aaargh! 1

Seems like no matter how much pre-fitting I do, I always end up with stuff just like this happening on final asssembly. Did you check to make sure that the glass has enough clearance around that radar detector? I made that mistake once.

MeatMan Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Hey Gang. I seem to be snakebitten with my Monza build and challenged in getting back on track, so I've decided to add another entry in tandem with the Monza. I'll be entering the 1973 Grumpy's Toy Vega. I'm not sure what I want to do with it but I won't be doing the level of mods I'm doing on the Monza. I want to have an entry done early this year (for me). 1
Fat Brian Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I'm calling this one done. It's an early T1 van with a 74 Carrera RS engine. I stole as many parts as I could from the Revell van kit. It's built in the spirit of the Transcon Medivac van, a coast to coast bratwurst delivery service. 4

Badge73 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Pictures do not do these prints justice. I want to thank Meatman for these files for the Fuzzbuster and radio, these are slick! So clean. Cannot wait to get these installed in the Skyline's interior. 2
