The Mercedes 500 is coming back?

Excellent.

Built one when they were first released, sadly it didn't survive, but still have an unbuild Lorinzer version

...anymore.

Beautiful. Is that the standard ride height from the Tamiya kit?

Yes, it could stand to come down by a scale 2" or so. In test fitting it sat a bit lower but the interior/glass interface pushed the ride height up in final assembly. The little rake it has out of the box is nice, though. The suspension is the same between the stock and Lorinser versions so this is how the stock 500 SEC will sit. I did narrow the track a bit by cutting down the hub assemblies to get the wheels to tuck in a bit more, otherwise they would have sat a bit proud of the wheel arches. The offset is different on the stock wheels so it wouldn't be necessary on the stock kit.

With the possible exception of the Supra, looks like a bunch of re-issues.  Not that there's a problem with that.

The Supra is a reissue too , just with some new parts, the wheels, body parts and spoiler.

I too am excited for the re-release of the Benz 500sec, especially if it’s the Lorinser version!! 🫨

Also definitely interested in Revell’s 2 new kits for this year, the Bugatti EB110 & the new Lamborghini Revulto !
Though i just hope neither is some type of snap-kit? 😳🙄 I’m wondering if Aoshima has lost the exclusive contract with Lamborghini because they’ve been the sole manufacturer for Lambos for many years now 👍🏽

The bug isn't a new tool. But a decent kit for when it was 1st issued.

Aoshima's deal wasn't exclusive, Hasegawa and Fujimi have been reissuing their various Lambo kits the whole time and Revell kicked out the old Monogram Exotics based US Spec Countach along the way during that time as well.

But no neither are SnapTite kits (Bugatti/Revulto), and as Frank pointed out the EB110 was originally released back in 1992.

James,

Did you find any info on Belkits? (Yeah I know, an odd question coming from a Belgian 😉 )

Cus think they were going to announce two new kits at Nürnberg.

Cheers

Italeri announced two new Euro trucks in 1/24 scale, a new tool Iveco Stralis “S-way” and a Volvo FH16 750, which I believe is a reissue, though, a 1/12 scale new tool Lancia Stratos in Alitalia/Munari/Maiga/Monte Carlo flavour, a revised tooling 1/12 scale Bugatti Type 35B Targa Florio '29/Monte Carlo '30 and a new tool 1/24 Lancia Fulvia HF.

Heller already launched their revised 1/24 scale Renault 4 GTL, which now has a sunroof.
They announced a new tool 1/24 scale Peugeot 205 GTI street version, which will have LHD and RHD options.
They also announced a 1/24 "Eagle Truck", a reissue of a full semi tractor/trailer kit of a 1980s Renault Midliner "Club of Four" with a standard European 3 axle/single tire curtainsider trailer with a huge eagle decal. Looks to me like someone stuck a Gauloises into a Marlboro pack.
There will also be a "Gordini Set", a clever combination of their existing high roof Estafette, car transport trailer and Renault 8 Gordini in one kit, with period correct decals. This set could be way cheaper to buy than the three models separately, especially when sending it transcontinentally.

Hello Luc,

Yes, they announced two kits,

- Ford RS 200 Lombard RAC Rally 1986
- Renault Maxi Megane

Also gravel conversion kits for the Fiesta S2000 WRC and the Fabia S2000 Evo.

Thanks Christian, but think those were announced a few years prior, no?

Like the Ford RS200, think even that one was delayed. Due to the 2 projects they were going to announce at Nürnberg.

Slightly confused 😉

I can't wait for that rascal ! My friend here has one of the few ( maybe 5 total ? ) imported to the U.S. - a "1985 / 1986" model ( apparently, France recognises the car as an '85, but the U.S. calls it an '86... go figure ).

The 1.6 GTI was launched in 1984. They followed it up with the 1.9 GTI in 1989, and the model was produced until 1994.
Export to the North American market was never intended, although some 'grey' imports have happened.
