Phildaupho Posted January 31 Posted January 31 This is my first completion of 2025 and the 5th of 8 ‘32 Ford models I am building for Deuce Days in Scale this July in Victoria BC. It is the latest Revel Roadster body with the Duval Windshield which I had used as a test body for some painting and highlighting techniques I wanted to use on a previous project. I decided this build would be show & go inspired so it would need a supercharged engine, drag slicks, a roll bar, a drag chute, lots of chrome and all should be over the top. The are so many historic Deuces that influenced this model starting with Tom McMullin’s flamed blown Hi-Boy, Phil Cool’s 1978 AMBR winning supercharged big-block roadster with monster drag slicks, Pete Chapouris’ Limefire, a few Deuce roadsters built specifically for drag racing and of course Stacey David’s Rat Roaster. ALTERATIONS & ADDITIONS Most of interior is from the Rat Roaster Dash, steering wheel & steering column from first issue Revell Roadster Roll bar from Revell ’41 Willys HEMI engine is a combination of ’32 5-W & ’41 Willys Street Rod parts Headers & exhaust from AMT Phantom Vickie Replicas & Miniatures Winters Quick Change Everything else from spare parts Tamiya Candy Lime Metallic with kit decals 6
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Like the big fat slicks and the cool quick change rear end. Super! 1
espo Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Great paint color and scallops. The clean assembly everywhere you look is what catches my eye first. Glad you listed the sources of your modifications to the basic kit, gives sort of a road map. 1
Claude Thibodeau Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hi Phil! Wow, a blend of many great influences, indeed. Bravo! CT 1
Zippi Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I'm diggin the little Deuce Phil. Very well build. Nicely done. 1
ybsluos Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Phil amazing build! The first 2 1:1 cars I thought of were Chappuris’ Limefire and Boyce Asquith’s yellow one. I always love a street rod with brawn to match the beauty. -Mark 1
Andrew McD Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Wow, what a ride this little gem would provide! You definitely accomplished the mission of combining brawn and beauty. 1
XYHARRY Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Great roadster there Phil, well done. Cheers, David. 😎👍 1
