Modlbldr Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) I bought this body years ago from Jimmy Flintstone's site. It is some sort of fictional sedan delivery. I am using the Revell Thom Taylor 34 as the parts kit. I lowered the suspension and it is completed. Paint is airbrushed green nail polish. The white is Rustoleum White primer with Pearl White nail polish airbrushed over it. Thinking I'll do a light green pinstripe between the two colors. I still need to scratchbuild some interior panels for the cargo area. Later- Edited February 24 by Modlbldr
Ulf Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Absolutely correct to start from a Thom Taylor kit, your build brings back memories of the 90s and Tom's phantom sketches. I like these phantoms because they show how incredibly good the original design is in that they can be changed. 1

It reminds me of looking through the old Street Rodder magazines in the 90's. Here it is mocked up after I painted the upper body last night. Unfortunately it has a bit of trash in the paint on the roof. I'm afraid to mess with it because it will be a bear to blend in. Got to lower the height of the radiator a bit. It's making the hood sit too high. Now to find some light green pinstripe. Later- 3
Sam I Am Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Looking good Tom. Are you going to put an accent stripes in-between the two colors?

Yes, I'm hoping to find something like a thin (maybe 1/16 inch) lime green or light green stripe in my stash of decals. Later-

I've had them kicking arouns for years. I would luke to find some more. I sanded the backs of them so that the spokes are open. Later-
Modlbldr Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 I finished this thing up a couple weeks ago. This did not turn out as well as I wanted. The body did not fit well with the kit fenders but I got it crammed together with lots of super glue and activator. At least it will look good on my shelf. I call it "Shades of the 90's" since it looks like something you would have seen in Street Rodder magazine back then. Later-
