89AKurt Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Still no rain! I even washed Fakerri, did the 50 mile Skull Valley loop (I used to be able to ride a bicycle on that). I even aimed where the clouds were, top down. Just more sunset pictures. Tonight it's 72ºF, 18% humidity, heard it's been record low dew point readings lately, not good for thunderstorm buildup. That is Whiskey Row. I don't dare go into a bar with this parked outside. 😏 1

I was up in Rocky Point at a JR Steakhouse. I think it poured for 15 minutes, thunder but no wind. Smithtown I heard had severe weather and power outages. Back home on the south shore looked like it had a little rain.
John M. Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) The thunderstorm that came through Boston yesterday took the humidity with it and it's sunny and pleasantly warm today. I could hop into my very trusty 08 Corolla and take a cruise but I'm too lazy to leave my place. The AC is doing a great job. Edited July 26 by John M.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Sunny, low to mid 90s this PM, worked this AM in the relative cool, now going for a hike.
Rob Hall Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) Partly sunny, humid and 82F outside..icky sticky with mosquitos. Good weather to stay inside w/ cold AC and do house stuff... Edited July 26 by Rob Hall 1
89AKurt Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Just boring clear skies, no wind, at sunup it was almost chilly, then the sun did it's thing. 🌞 1

bobss396 Posted Monday at 11:32 AM Posted Monday at 11:32 AM It finally rained yesterday for a few hours. I did some food shopping and gardening before the rain. Today 73 at 6 am and super sticky, RH is 83%. I'll take a dip in the pool, feed some plants, go back into the AC and do some housework. Maybe some wash.
Ace-Garageguy Posted Monday at 12:21 PM Posted Monday at 12:21 PM It's already 85F at 08:00, so it's going to be a hot one. I still have hours of paperwork to do...
bobss396 Posted Tuesday at 11:26 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:26 AM Still disgusting out with the humidity at 92%. 73 F at 6 am... it may have rained a little overnight.
Ace-Garageguy Posted Tuesday at 01:09 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:09 PM Forecast cold front coming through later in the week. Highs s'posed to be in the upper 70s on Sunday, 20 degrees cooler than today.
John M. Posted Tuesday at 01:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:53 PM Sunny and 97 degrees today with a heat index of 105.
rattle can man Posted Tuesday at 04:36 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:36 PM 90and heat index 99 right now. supposed to hit 97 and heat index 111 today. tomorrow only 90. Then a nice, balmy 80ish for the next 7 days. 1
bobss396 Posted Wednesday at 11:01 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:01 AM Still disgusting outside by me. 77 F and 77% RH. I've been inside during the worst of the heat. I'm down to one small AC unit on the main floor. Last night at dusk, the pool was 83. I gave everything a good watering. I'll rinse-repeat within the next hour.
Rob Hall Posted Wednesday at 12:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:25 PM More hot and humid. As I get older, I really don't care for heat over about 80F...esp. when there is humidity. Was 89F w/ about 80% humidity yesterday. But my dual ACs are keeping the house very comfortable at 68F inside. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted Wednesday at 03:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:06 PM (edited) Overcast and coolish...75F...so the house isn't picking up any solar gain. Good weather to sit at a keyboard for hours justifying my exorbitant charges...if there is any such thing. EDIT: I'd sure rather be hiking or go for a drive in the country, but I have zero admin support in either shop...as an autonomous subcontractor...so I gotta do what I gotta do. bamadon Posted Wednesday at 03:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:45 PM 10:44 in central Alabama and it is 91 with 56% humidity. Under a heat advisory until 9:00 this evening.
Andria H Posted Thursday at 04:26 AM Posted Thursday at 04:26 AM 86 degrees and chances of a thunderstorm at half past 9pm. My fluffy girl Soraya is wearing an improvised thunder shirt to keep calm, plus I am offering plenty of physical comfort 3
bobss396 Posted Thursday at 10:41 AM Posted Thursday at 10:41 AM It rained for about 15 minutes last evening. Ivan the cat associates rain with thunder, he senses it hours in advance. I see him slinking across the floor on his belly. 77 F at 6 AM. I usually wait to put the AC on... but not this past week. Things in the garden are struggling despite extra watering. I may lose a lot of my corn. I'm going to harvest celery and shallots soon.
bobss396 Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Finally rain yesterday, late afternoon into the night. It was 62 when I got up, 1st night with a windiw open in a while. NYC got a lot of flooding, not that much out where I am.
John M. Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Sunny and low 70s all weekend. A little day road trip to New Hampshire in the Corolla is planned for Sunday.
espo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Finally got a break from the high 90's heat and humidity indexes in the 100's. Now it's in the mid to high 70's with 90 percent humidity, but at least the smoke from several distant fires is blocking the sun a little. Health advisories for those of us with breathing issues.
