tahiti7 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I finished this up yesterday. Painted with PPG automobile paint (Verdoro green) over gray primer and clear coated. Had some trouble with the PPG the first time around (ambient temp too cool I think) so I stripped it and repainted it. 20
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Great build of a favorite car. Hood mounted tach and 400 emblems on the twin hood scoops. I was 17 when these hit the streets. Yours looks just like we saw them on the street. Thanks for posting.
STU111 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Neat and tidy build. Verdoro green with white interior trim is a sweet combo. Lots to like with this one. 👍🏻

A guy I used to work with had one the same color except with black interior. l always liked the looks of these early Firebirds. 6 hours ago, Jim B said: Looks great. Very well done. karbuildr Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Very cool build. Very popular color back in the day, great job.
espo Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Great looking paint color and goes well with the contesting interior. Like how you did the detail painting of the engine and chassis.
AMT68 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Looks great and Verdoro green is always a good choice on these cars. Very nice trim work and accurate looking Pontiac metallic blue for the engine. I recently picked up one of these kits and plan to start it soon.

I used Model Master Pontiac Engine Blue Metallic #TS2728 for the engine. The kit went together well, really no issues and very little flash. The 'stem' or 'tab' on the gearshift lever protrudes through the transmission tunnel and needs to be trimmed off once it's glued in place. If you don't cut it off it will interfere with the transmission, making it difficult to locate the body correctly on the chassis. (At least for me anyway.) 1

Ragtop Man Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Got a Pontiac itch that build really scratches. Nice work!
