Any updates on this build? I just traded for a resin 1992 Crown Victoria and went searching for other 92's.

I believe that the resin CV was offered by Art Anderson back in the day. Great conversion. Makes me want to give it a try in a Delaware State Police livery.

Well, now I'm going to have to finish painting this after Agent G resurrected it! I think Wayne drove one for a living, so I'll forgive him. ;) I DO appreciate the wonderful comments. :)

They were good cars and you have done a fine job replicating one. Heck yeah you better finish!

How did I miss this the first time around! Now, the question is... will the perennial non-finisher finish it?

Seriously, though, great work on 'er so far. I've wanted to convert the Lindberg kit over to '92 specs for a while, and now I have a pretty good guide to go by. I'd wondered about using the AMT Taurus grille opening to convert the front end- seeing it actually done is a big push in the right direction for me.

That it was- I believe the Monogram Mustang was the intended donor kit.

Love it!! Are those the Modelhaus center caps? And what wheels are they on?

I'd assume they're the Modelhaus wheels- they come in a set of four wheels (done in black resin) and four plated caps. Just got a set not even a week ago for a '97 I'm building.

Thanks. Since I posted that, I did get the Modelhaus caps lol.

wow .. up from the dead again! no, mine are never dead, just resting . ehhe. Thanks for the comments everyone.

It is just waiting for a repaint ... there's th etrouble as I hate painting. The paint on this one really went on smooth first time around. I even acquired some thin striping tape I think will work here.

looks top notch, i too noticed the differences on the earlier one to the Lindberg CV, its something i had planned to do at some point. I also wish they had made the door strips a add on part, rather than moulded on.

I would love to see more pics of this build, a lot of my Chimneyville decals are for this older CV like a NY transit car im doing

I think there was a fleet option that either deleted the moldings from the front doors, or included them in the trunk. There are a lot of cars like this one, where police graphics took up the entire door so there is no molding. The other thing you'll see are cars that have the molding, but a section of it was cut out to allow for a long shield. When these make it to their second life as taxi cabs, they look funny with the shield cut out in the molding, but no graphics any where near it!

Yeah looked at thousands of pics and know what you mean, CHP is a common one i see people make but leave on the strip. The Lindberg Box art on most of them show it not fitted. I was told, no idea if its true, but i doubt it, is that the jumping all over CV one they did doors with no strips.

These are agencies I have personal knowledge of when it comes to door trim.

CHP ordered the cars with the front door trim deleted as did the Nevada HP at first. Maryland SP cut a gap in the trim to accomodate the shield. CHP has deleted the front door trim for decades now.

St Louis PD ordered the full trim package and adjusted the markings to the car, as did the St Louis County PD and Las Vegas Metro PD. Nevada HP then changed the shield/logo something like four times in five years.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said **** it and put the door shield right over the door trim. Maybe that's why we always referred to the MSHP as "MiSHaPs............................

Foxer's early CV conversion is nice . . . thought so at the time but didn't post. Still think it's a nice build.

Ok, I fixed the photos for the move to Fotki and found better photos of the 1:1. The paint is done and I only need to foil the trim and assemble ... I have to end this! :D

I have been "rushing" this to completion! Will have some photos soon.

In the meantime, I found these photos and this resin '92 Crown Vic by Art Anderson deserves to be here ... wish I could have started with this beauty!

I got the wheels washed and decal added.

Been perfecting my antenna construction. This uses an Insect Pin with two hypodermic tubes for the lower sections. They give a realistic, almost to scale, look. First is with no chrome, second chromed but needing a redo to smooth more. The third pic is with the insect pin cut off and a dip in Bondic for the ball ... this works great!

Interior just needs a wash to bring out detail. I used a sample of wood on a self stick card ... I'm happy with the look.
