Valvefloat Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 I have a wide assortment 120-3000 grit sandpaper but also have 50 S,M and L emery boards, was curious.
johnyrotten Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Like mentioned above, the one's I have purchased from sprawlmart are pretty a course(spelling) grit. I'll check when I get out of work. I use glass files for most of my finishing work, so I need something to move material fast.

You could spray glue some down on popsicle sticks, wood skewers, ect and make up some custom "tools" if needed. Something I do as needed.
stitchdup Posted April 18 Posted April 18 if they are from the beauty stores they usually have a rough and smooth side. if you want the same thing but in finer grits, they tend to be called sanding sticks. Squadron do some nice sets that go from 180 - 2500 grit, and theres green (also in brown but they are trash) no brand ones that can be washed that are handy in some chain hobby shops.
Straightliner59 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I go to Sally Beauty Supply and buy Tropical Shine boards. They come in a variety of grits, from 80-"I can polish this!" They can also be found on Ebay. 2

I use contact cement..have a gallon for cabinet work..coat both the stick and the back side of the sandpaper..let it tack up and slam em together..also, all those poop bag roll inners get the same treatment..
rattle can man Posted April 19 Posted April 19 7-way nail buffers are nice for large areas they range from course to polishing grits on one foam block.
bobss396 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Those old brown tapered boards usually have an aggressive grit, I'd say 100 on one side and 180 on the other. Again, Sally's has the best assortment and they last. I like the Tropical Shine ones. Dry sand, wet sand, they are my favorite. 1

First time I saw them, and noticed the "Washable/Disinfectable" label, I knew they'd do the trick! 1
1930fordpickup Posted April 21 Posted April 21 I use boards from Sally's. I also use double sided tape with the grit and shape I want/need.
