eran_k Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Although not 100% Accurate as the 109 was only used as a support vehicle for the Camel Trophy, i decided to build a "What If" version, simply because the revell Land Rover is available and is quite good kit. The build started with the engine and chassis, built box stock. the seats and rear benches and few other parts were also assembled and painted semi gloss black or other shades of black for some variation. cant progress with the body as I'm waiting for the "Sandglow" paint to arrive from Gravity paints of spain, so i designed and printed some accessories for the build First, a roof rack Next, stuff to put on the roof rack, and headlight guards still need to print a winch, and maybe few more bits and pieces To be Continued... 6
'70 Grande Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Looks like you're off to an excellent start! I also have this kit in progress but wanted to do some more research before going much farther. Your printed pieces look outstanding! Wish I had the skills and equipment to produce additional parts like yours! Can you explain what Sand Rails are? I've never seen those before.

Sand rails (they do have other names e.g. Sand ladders) are devices to help get the vehicle out of deep sand or other difficult terrain , by providing something for the tires to have some grip. they've been in use for eons https://www.toughtoys.com.au/4wd-recovery/sand-tracks-sand-ladders-and-maxtrax-alternatives/#:~:text=Steel and aluminium Sand Ladders, through soft and muddy ground. 1
c-plane362 Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Sand rails were originally PSP (Perforated steel planking) or Marston matting used in WW II for quick runways and any kind of needed decking 1

1930fordpickup Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Very nice model. You could sell the roof racks or at least the files.
