Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted Sunday at 09:48 PM Posted Sunday at 09:48 PM Another model I got with my gift card this past Christmas. I saw a few of these on eBay and decided I wanted one for the collection. It's not a bad kit as far as detail, however, assembly was kinda hard. The windshield plastic was a little too wide for the frame. I actually ended up trimming some of it off. The interior is not a tub and the doors attach to the body interior. It's tricky getting the interior in and getting the doors in the correct position. Getting the dash to fit right with the doors and all was a nightmare. Getting the chassis to fit right was also a nightmare. Lots of repositioning and using a knife to pull the body apart to adjust the ride height. To start the front was higher than the rear and it had the Carolina squat look. It took forever to get it to go in the right spot. Bugatti Fan Posted Monday at 07:04 AM Posted Monday at 07:04 AM (edited) Nice model build. Surprised to hear of the fit problems during your build. I think this kit was also marketed under the Revell banner too. Apart from the Airfix 1/32nd scale one, it is the only 1/24th scale plastic kit of the MGB that I can think of. C1 Models make a transkit to build a coupe version from this kit that really looks good. C1 make a Sebring MGC complete kit too that is very good having seen the one that Matt Bacon has built. South Eastern (ex Wills) Findcast has a 1/24th scale kit in white metal that looks nice built up. Back in the 80's there was a company named Marque One models who made built up white metal MGB models to customer order, but did not make the models available as kits. The venture I think was quite short lived. Edited Monday at 07:07 AM by Bugatti Fan 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted Tuesday at 04:12 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:12 PM Very nice! I picked up an Aoshima MG kit (because I just so happened to have some British Green paint!).
NOBLNG Posted Tuesday at 04:19 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:19 PM It turned out great looking despite the issues!👍😎
