It is May and time once again for one of the most exciting races in the history of the automobile.  Also one of the most most modeled subjects in our hobby from the big companies to the garage shop casters, among them Chris Etzel, Bill Jorgensen, and Front Motor to name just a few.  Although the program for the month of May at the Brickyard has changed significantly over the recent years the anticipation still excites us fans of this most exciting racing event.  So, let's see your Indy car models and what started your passion for these cars.

I start with Etzels's 1924 Duesenberg, and 1926 Miller 91,

MPC 1968 winning Gurney Eagle with R&M Turbo Offy kit,

AMT 11968 Lotus Turbine w/ Lance Sellers retro kit,

SMTS 1/43 1967 Paxton Turbine,

And an Revell box stock Montoya 2000 G-Force, though not in Indy configuration, but still...

Now let's see yours?   Model On!

Very nice Indy cars, all around.  I have the 1998 Revell Motorola Reynard 98i in the stash, but the decals are about as flexible a plastic flash so they're unusable.  Maybe one day I'll get new decals for it.

Much better without the yellow green paint isn't it Bruce!  Very nice engine detailing! Who's tires did you use they look pretty much spot on?

Hello Big John, it is a mpc kit that I cut out the huge engine mount. The tires are from Indy cals . Their decal and tires are great.

Bruce, those are beautiful cars.  I use to like the old Players black cars back in the day, but the Miller gold and white car is the bomb!   What gold did you use for this, looks nice?

Thanks man ...The gold is Duplicolor High heat Engine enamel, CDE1604 Universal gold...everything else I tried was too washed out.

Great topic!

Love them all!

John, that Miller is absolutely GORGEOUS!

I am currently working on the 1911 Marmon Wasp and the 1988 Rick Mears PC17 among others.

Many years ago I finished this 1/25 1968 second place finisher Dan Gurney's Eagle.

Awesome detailing on the Eagle Ismael! We never really think about the 'also rans' and how close Dan Gurney came to  winning in his own car that year.
