NOBLNG Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Shortly after getting my H, I ditched the allen head set screw and put a short 8-32 machine screw in its place and kept a stubby Robertson screwdriver handy in the booth. Yesterday I went to HD and picked up a brass female thumbscrew since they didn’t have males.😕 I added an 8-32 machine screw with a drop of red locktite and cut it to length. No more tools required now to install or change nozzles.🙂 8
Bugatti Fan Posted June 2 Posted June 2 A neat conversion for ease of use Greg. We don't see Paasche Airbrushes much over here in the UK although one of the oldest (if not the:oldest) quality airbrush manufacturers in the world. There may be a UK distributor, but if so they do not appear to push the brand like others. Question. Looking at how the nozzle and siphon are arranged is the Paasche H an external mix airbrush ? 1

Yes it is and single action also. You set the airflow via a separate regulator, and paint flow by how far you unscrew the nozzle. Dirt simple and easy to clean.🙂 It also has a 1/4oz. Cup that I use most of the time. Edited June 2 by NOBLNG 2
hedotwo Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Great tip Greg! I use my H quite often and this'll be a nice change. 1
Oliver77 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Great solution to a fiddly part of this otherwise dead simple airbrush. I've just been putting up with the allen wrench all these years. 1
Bugatti Fan Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Looks like Paasche might be receptive to this very easy fix as a suggestion for an improvement. 1
Rich Chernosky Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Great tip Greg. I have 2 Paasche H airbrushes (1 med, 1 heavy tip) That I use on a daily basis. They have been my "go to" for many years now. 2

One thing to watch out for is if you have a spray pot for cleaning, that the thumbscrew doesn’t get in the way. Not a problem with my home-made one.🙂
bill-e-boy Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Great tip Greg. Nothing messes with the brain cells when you can't find that special tool you need at a crucial point. A tool less option is best. If you sawed off the recessed area and left the knurled part it would be shorter which may look nicer. 1
