Dave Van Posted June 3 Posted June 3 WOW...nice work! I owned two real Aerostars........decent vehicles if maintained. Thx
TransAmMike Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Very nice work Grzegorz. I also owned one. Had one as a company car and liked it so much bought one for the wife to drive.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I've never been a fan of these in 1:1, but you did a great job.
Chuck Most Posted June 4 Posted June 4 If I could make one minor gripe, your '87 has been retrofitted with a 1992-1997 grille. But maybe that's more observation than gripe. 🤣 These both look fantastic, what kit(s) did you use as a base?

SpeedAndViolence Posted Saturday at 07:38 PM Posted Saturday at 07:38 PM Back in the late 90's, several friends and I from the local model car club would cruise to the various contests in his Aerostar. On one of our trips, we had a couple of close calls because the brakes were not equipped to a stop the equivalent of a cattle hauler (6 grown men plus everyones contest submissions and the literal hobby shop of purchases we brought back) 😂 Anyway... after that trip we immediately began referring to it as the 'Deathstar' 😂🤔 Thanks for the memories..
bytownshaker Posted Saturday at 09:15 PM Posted Saturday at 09:15 PM Awesome build!!! As a Ford transmission tech during the Aerostar era I paid a good portion of my mortgage repairing the A4LD transmissions. 1
TarheelRick Posted Monday at 02:27 AM Posted Monday at 02:27 AM (edited) A couple of really nice-looking vans. Also, would like to find a kit of one of these. Anyone out there in the 3D world ever think of printing one of these, keep me in mind. Owned one of the extended vans for a few years. Originally bought because the wife wanted it, but when I bought my new '99 Taurus the van became my car. Worked out well. I was in seminary and drove a school bus in a neighboring county. Instead of driving the 30 miles one-way home between runs I would go find a shady spot, sit in the van and study, or go over to Wake Forest University and use their library, or go into town looking around. Could lay the middle seat down, eat my Igloo lunch and use the seat back as a desk. A cover placed over the rear seat back and the middle seat back would create a fairly dark place to take a nap. Was napping one late spring morning and had the windows opened for a breeze. Heard some boys talking and noticed a hand sliding in the window toward the door handle. I couldn't reach the hand, but I did kick the door panel. When I raised up all I saw was posterior orifices and elbows running across the parking lot. Edited Monday at 02:31 AM by TarheelRick
