Silvercreeker Posted July 21 Author Posted July 21 Just a little more progress tonight. The VCG Resins chain piston/chain shifter was modified with a Detail Masters Hurst shifter rod for the exact look. Dash is in, and I really have to say how much I love the Micro Mark hole punch for perfectly round gauges. Rims and tires mocked up, but still need to do valve stems and the engine block is together. Still to do all the spark pluck wiring and fuel lines. Throttle linkage too. Hard to find time in the heat of summer. 6
Bainford Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Lovely work, Scott. Great attention to detail. Everything is looking 'right'.
Silvercreeker Posted July 23 Author Posted July 23 An hour and a half of eye straining work and plug wires, boots and looms are installed correctly for a small block Chevy. This tedious work is worth it in the end. 4
Silvercreeker Posted July 25 Author Posted July 25 The first mock up with body on the frame and wheels in place. Like the stance. Interior is done, and started on some body work. Basement is nice and cool, enjoyable to be down here. 6
Silvercreeker Posted July 30 Author Posted July 30 (edited) All evening on a new firewall. The full aluminum didn’t look right. After looking at more reference photos, thanks Ed. Milner’s was the bottom 1/2 factory and a top half aluminum skin. So, that’s what I did. And, yes I haven’t started cleaning up the windshield frame Edited July 30 by Silvercreeker 2
Silvercreeker Posted Tuesday at 11:52 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:52 PM Paint is done after 3 days of paint, sand, paint and sanding. Final coats down and in the dehydrator for another 24 hrs to cure. I do love Enamel, but patience is key. Scratch built the exhaust with mufflers, from VCG Resins. They look great. 8 weeks into this build, and the end is in sight! 4

Nice exost system as well, on my build I modified the system off of the mpc flip nose 57. 1 1

That is a non flame candle lighter. It heats up the styrene slowly and avoids the "melt" that the lighter causes. 1
