A 1/24 monogram GTO. 1985 kit. Modified the suspension for the tires and wheels. Prepped the body and primed it. It’s an old kit but overall it’s not bad. Using some parts from the foose impala kit. Door handles and windshield wipers so far. I have a model car garage photo etch set I’m going to use. Also going to use revell chrome paint for the bumpers. It’s an old kit but seems to cleanup nice . There are things that are old like the exhaust is molded in the rearend. The door panels are not separate, stuff like that. Well here goes. This is going to be a slow , fun build.

Looking good, it's not a bad kit at all. I built one last year. Check the rear bumper, driver's side under the tailights. Mine had a dip in it, and I've seen others with the same.

Thank you and for the advice. I’ll keep a heads up on that

Always liked this body style.  The ride height looks nice.  Looking good so far Bruce.  I'll be checking in on this build.

Great kit Bruce, real nice stance!

Hello Carl. Thank you . I’m thinking of a burgundy , brandy wine color. I love maroon on a GTO. But a burgundy will make it more exciting. I forgot to mention, Jays wheels and tires

Jonny , thank you for the heads up on that rear bumper. Mine has it also. I will strip it, fill it and prime and use revell spray chrome. WOW it’s a very big wave in the bumper. Mine has a small wave in the center as well. Thanks again.

I caught mine after I stripped and re-chromed it. Rookie mistake. Your gto is looking killer, I figured I had better pass that along. That kit can be made a coupe as well.

Stance is looking good Bruce.👍 I started this kit back in 2019, set it aside for 5 years, and just finished it this year. A couple of things to watch out for: The bumpers don’t have decent mounting points. I shortened the steering column because I thought it was way too far from the dash. Check the fit of the hood…I had to shim mine up so it would sit flush. Then either the radiator or the nose piece wouldn’t let it close completely.
