First up a confession, this may never make it to Under Glass.

I've had it for years and was inspired by Nico's Bonneville Streamliner.

I'm building it as something a young guy in the early fifties could do, if he new a good panel man.

Started with a model A frame, z'd, narrowed and shortened.  Tri carb flathead running thru a quick change rear end.

I have to be able to make the front end realistic so we'll see how it goes.

All parts from my various spares boxes.

It's really just a fill in while waiting to finish the Cheetah and get my head around the Zagato.

Tks for looking.

You're making a great start. These little kits really do make a great blank canvas. There's so much you can do with them.

I think these 1950's style streamliners are very very cool and sure hope Both Niko and you will keep us entertained and inspired with your builds. The bodies on these Hawk/Testors toys are really good and the opportunity to scratch build everything else must be hard to resist. 😃

The good news is my Cheetah decals have arrived, the bad news is the young speed merchants have threatened to sack their designer, me, as the centre of gravity is too high with a z'd chassis for a Streamliner so I have already started planning an underslung tube chassis.

More to follow.

So, our speed merchants have come up with an alternative tube chassis with the rear end welded directly to it al'a the SoCal Streamliner.

They have also made their own intake manifold to keep the four carbs below the body line.

Having a break now the Cheetah needs finishing.

Tks for your comments.

So I've finished the Cheetah and am progressing the Zagato so I'm able to spend some more time on this.

Getting both the body and chassis where I want them.

Looks great! I think you'll be finished way sooner than me. This summertime is just so busy that it's not often that I get to actually sit down at the bench.

Nice work with the body and chassis. Love the obscure intake manifold setup. Definitely something that someone could have created for one of these.

i like vehicles which are built by someone not with a degree in engineering, but understood how parts integrated with each other to make stuff work.

Still lots to do but I couldn't resist sitting it on it's wheels.

It is always a boost for motivation to make a mock-up in between. Very nice, Dave - you are a master of creativity!

Tks Helmut, it's nice to build something where I'm not trying to replicate the real thing.

I can use a little imagination although I feel some things (i.e. the intake manifold) probably wouldn't work properly in reality.

Anyway tks again and thanks to those who have been posting their likes etc.
