^^^ I see the "journalist" refers to "aircrafts".

C'mon, people. The plural of aircraft is aircraft...NO "S".

This is becoming pretty common, and sounds idiotic to anyone who actually knows anything about planes.

It's like calling a herd of sheep "sheeps".

Bill, It's probably no worse then people saying "casted" as the past tense of cast. Don't know about your neck of the woods but the past tense of cast has always been "cast" up here.🙄

It's "cast" everywhere I've ever encountered English speakers who were paying attention in school.

There's a lot of this kind of stuff these days, it's fairly recent, is indicative of changes in the "education" system, and it makes my skin crawl.

I'm a big fan of parts runners in kits referred to as "spruce" too.     image.jpeg.5fe634262e39b6ad7707b45d0b56d572.jpeg

I suspect that his one is a result of auto-correct many people have enabled on their smart and not-so-smart devices. Still, that doesn't make it right.
I do roll my eyes whenever I see "spruce" used for describing a parts tree.  Actually I believe that the sprue is not the parts tree "frame" but the small plastic tabs connecting the part to the parts tree.

The "sprue" is technically the first mold cavity that molten plastic is injected into, with the "runners" being the correct term for what we often call "sprues" or "trees".

Part of injection molding plastic products. Sprue and ...

I'm guilty of occasionally using "sprue" for "runner", but at least it's not a species of evergreen.

With my degree in English I will say the Internet is a cringe fest when it comes to either spelling, pluralization or there, their, they're.  But the one that really burns me is Heighth. There is no H at the end of Height. I don't know where this came from, but it makes me nuts. There, I said it.

I've had cats that totally freaked out whenever the neighborhood pyros started letting off firecrackers. Somehow it never occurred to me to sue anybody.

I've also had cats that didn't twitch a whisker, looked around, had some chow, and went back to sleep. Definitely my preferred kind of feline personalities.  :D

How about the name Hugh spelled "Huge" and vice-versa?

Huge Hugh don't come 'round here no more. ;)

"A/C just needs charged" is one of my peeves.

Yup...that "ed" where it doesn't belong, missing "to be", rankles. Oil needs changed, car needs washed, etc.

Lately there seems to be a LOT of misunderstanding of tenses in general too.

"Education", eh wot?

I gotta send you a link to a podcast about an intensifier. Can’t post it here.

That's how we say it down here!  Just like we say "oil" a bit differently LOL. Dave gave me hell about that the whole time I was out there and even after I left LOL!
