FoMoCo66 Posted Sunday at 02:34 AM Posted Sunday at 02:34 AM This is my take on an early 60s mild custom. I used the AMT 55 chevy kit, partly because it is a post car, IMHO they look better than the hardtop. The whole car was lowered with the leaf springs flattened and the spindles the lowest they would go. Ended up painting this car in a Larry Watson style paint job. This was also my first time using Tamiya acrylics, pretty impressed by their drying time (guess I'm used to enamels). For the engine I used the stock one but with the kit included hop up parts. I broke one of the intake stacks so ended up using some wire ferrules for them instead. Several modifications were made to the body such as some trim shaving, wipers removed, cowl vents filled, and all emblems and scripts shaved. The Radir wheels are from the Revell 64 Thunderbolt, the tires out front are from the kit, and AMT parts pack m&h racemasters out back. I ended up doing a lot of work to the interior. Started by scribing the door cards off, sanding the pattern off, using half round styrene for the tuck n roll, and lastly adding some magazines to cover up a tiny booger. Here's the WIP https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/201760-mild-custom-55-chevy-post/ Thanks for looking everyone Elliot 21

papajohn97 Posted Sunday at 04:07 PM Posted Sunday at 04:07 PM Beautiful model Elliot. Love the two-tone Larry Watson style paint work and that tuck&roll interior is outstanding! I don't generally model customs but your '55 is inspiring me! 1
espo Posted Sunday at 06:43 PM Posted Sunday at 06:43 PM Great tastefully done Kustom and paint work. Like the T&R interior. Clean looking engine and the injector stacks you used look more realistic than the kits parts. 1
