Silvercreeker Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Tires painted, chrome on and curing and gloss black base color is down for the color shift paint. Even with the dehydrator, I wait at least 72 hrs to start wet sanding. Tomorrow is motor wiring and carbs….all 4 of them! 4
Silvercreeker Posted September 26 Author Posted September 26 First coat of final color. MCW color shift enamel. Different for sure. 4
Cool Hand Posted September 26 Posted September 26 (edited) Great idea using the colour shift paint. I built a lot Tom Daniel kits back when I first started in the hobby, so I have really enjoyed this build thread a lot especially all the customizing you have done. Cant wait to see the end result when its all pieced together. Actually inspired me to buy the kit. Edited September 26 by Cool Hand

Tom Daniel kits are so fun and bring back memories to the 70’s building them 2
Silvercreeker Posted September 26 Author Posted September 26 The MCW color shift red/gold paint out in the sun. Pretty cool. 6 1

Very cool That "Slant Eight" is definitely the engine that Chrysler SHOULD have made, It would have been a real game changer in some of those mid '60s compacts like the Valiants and Darts, even the Baracuda might have been a possibility😊 2
Silvercreeker Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 Wiring done on motor, carbs installed and a bit of interior done this morning. The finish line is a bit closer. 6
Silvercreeker Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 Had to do a bit of repainting on the bottom of the primary build, so I thought it would be good to do a box stock class build of this kit so they show beside each other. All I need is time, lots of time. 2
Kanada Kustoms Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Beautiful paint color... The engine is a killer choice as well! 1

Silvercreeker Posted Tuesday at 04:27 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:27 PM A bit of a disaster on the Snake Bitten car, had a large area in the bottom have the paint lift on the last coat of paint. Had to order more color shift paint from MCW. Sanded down, started back from the base coat up through the stages. Looks like glass now. Had time to also work on the Box Stock version too. That one is Alclad Pale Gold and all the weird Red Chrome was stripped and painted Alclad Copper. Looking just like the box art. I guess this is why we "enjoy" doing this! 1
Silvercreeker Posted Tuesday at 08:48 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:48 PM Both set of tires and wheels are done, bodies in the dehydrator. The stock vs "Richard Carroll" type is mind blowing. In the home stretch for both Snake cars! 2
Silvercreeker Posted Tuesday at 10:18 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 10:18 PM Seats and shifters are all done. Going to be cool having them both done at the same time. 1
Silvercreeker Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Decals on and in the dehydrator before the last coat of clear. They are close and will be revealed at the same time. That color shift paint fought me every step of the way! 2
