SkylineGTR34 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Hello everyone 👋😉 In addition to my Japanese pickups, I'm posting my first American entry, which is about an SUV called the GMC Typhoon. A sports SUV from the early 90s. I've been planning to build this model for a long time and already had a suitable kit on hand: the Revell GMC Syclone, in which the chassis and body are shortened to get as close to the original as possible. Here's the kit box: And thats what it should Look like in the end: More about that later. Best regards 👋😉 Eugen S. 5

Good morning Dan, and welcome to my GMC Typhoon project 👋😉😎 Thank you very much. I'll be posting updates on the conversion project. Stay tuned for what's to come. See you then 👋😉 Best regards 👋 Eugen S. Edited September 5 by SkylineGTR34
SkylineGTR34 Posted September 5 Author Posted September 5 Good morning everyone 👋😉 Please don't be surprised, but I've already built the Syclone in Candy Lime Green with flame decals and gold rims. However, I wasn't entirely satisfied with it in the end, so I took it apart again and sanded off the old paint. This is what my Syclone looked like before: Afterwards, it looked like this, with Fujimi wheels for customization: Primed and painted black: More updates later. Best regards 👋 Eugen S. 1
FUSIONBOY Posted September 5 Posted September 5 I LOVED putting those together at the dealership!!!! PDI included taking it to the gas station to put in 5 bucks and test drive. There is also a Marlboro edition out there from a contest they did back in that time frame. Looking very forward to this build!!! 1

SkylineGTR34 Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 Good evening to you both, Rick and Keith 👋😉 Thank you for joining me on my project, and thanks for the pictures, Keith 😉😎 That's a great toy for the road, it really gave me a lot of power. Oh yes, the Marlboro Syclone also looks very nice in that red with the decals 😍 Revell also included the Marlboro decals so I could build this version. However, I'll have to saw off some of the roof and the pickup cover as well. I recently got a second Syclone kit from the first edition. I also found another version of the Syclone here, which I'm planning to use for my next project: Best regards 👋 Eugen S. 3
FUSIONBOY Posted September 7 Posted September 7 WOW!!!!! I had not Seen that Version of the Marlboro Truck! the one eye saw was white with red accents and Marlboro covers for the wheel centers. 1
SkylineGTR34 Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 Good evening everyone 👋😉 I recently received four S10 kits, or rather three of them. I bought the fourth Monogram Chevrolet S-10 myself. One of the two Waverider Chevy S-10s was already started by the previous owner but not quite finished, and it doesn't have any paint yet, which is a plus for me. I'll build that one as a Waverider, and I have something else planned for the other Waverider. But that's for the next project. But now to the current project: The renovation process begins: That doesn't quite convince me, so I'll take everything apart and strip the paint: It was a very long process, taking several hours. The fire wall was glued to the cabin: The rear outer parts of the bed have already been shortened slightly, and the fuel cap has been sawed out: More progress to follow later. See you then 👋😉 Best regards 👋 Eugen S. 1
SkylineGTR34 Posted Thursday at 12:08 AM Author Posted Thursday at 12:08 AM Hey everyone 👋😉 My next update won't be long in coming. So, I'm continuing with the conversion process of the Syclone/Typhoon. A lot of trimming had to be done at the rear to match the original, and the position of the fuel cap has also changed: Here you can see how it looks on the original Typhoon: And how that looks on my model: So far, it looks like a shortened pickup truck. The roof will be added soon, etc. See you then. Greetings 👋 Eugen S. 3
NOBLNG Posted Thursday at 01:22 PM Posted Thursday at 01:22 PM WOW! Awesome amount of custom fabrication you are doing to this! It is really starting to shape up nicely.👍 1
