Kah puts Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Well now, it takes a cool imagination to pull this and make it look good, congratulations 👍
ybsluos Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Glen, they both look fantastic! I’ve seen chopped Henry J s done as drag or pro Street cars and they look nice even with the short wheelbase when done as a drag car, However I never thought one could make a nice lead sled because of the short proportions. However, you cracked the code by lengthening it. Excellent work! -Mark
ybsluos Posted September 27 Posted September 27 R&R Vacuum Craft cast a Manhattan many years back. I wish I had one because if I did, I would send it your way in the hopes that you would do something like this with it. There have been several 1:1 Manhattan sleds done and I personally love them. Your Henry J gives me the same vibe though. I love all your models. You are great with styrene and resin. 1
Zippi Posted September 27 Posted September 27 That's one kewl looking 51 Henry J Glen. I'm liking it.
espo Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Your body work completely changes the appearance of the Henry J.
damodelguy phx az Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 mark, i have seen a few manhattans customs. they have a different look stock with the high roof. but the customs have that roof flattened out and that lowered seems to make it look longer also. ya manhattan bodies are a lot harder to obtain. thanx guys
meechum68 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Such a fantastic piece of work!! Who knew how nice the cadillac fins would look on the 51 J!
Mike 1017 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Another Home Run. I recognize some of the backgrounds and the style of your photography. Did you post on SAE site?
damodelguy phx az Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 thanx michael, yes i did post on scale auto, shame it went away 1
#1 model citizen Posted September 30 Posted September 30 The stock Henry J had a hint of the Caddy fins and they look right at home on the now not so little car! Beautiful work!
Spex84 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 I'm impressed! The finished item looks quite natural and flows better than I ever would have imagined a Henry J could...and the WIP shots show why. What a lot of Frankenstein-ing! You must have had a very clear vision for this car to have pulled it together from all those fragments.
