carsntrucks4you Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) This car is a Triumph TR7 2.0 Litre Convertible . Build between 1979 and 1980. The convertible version appeared in May 1979 – but, again disappointingly for customers in the UK and Europe, its sales were limited to the USA. It was immediately apparent to all that, in this form, the styling was everything that the TR7 should have been right from launch – so right were its lines. No longer was the ‘turret top’ an awkward looking car, but it has gone through the transition to become a pretty and striking open-topped car. The correct Triumph TR 7 answer were sent in by DonW ChrisR Roger U Thom Due to the fact that the bonnet / hood has double bulge some said Triumph TR8, but the convertible TR 7 that were build in Solihull and Canley got the double bulge hood as well. Matt Bacon Posted Monday at 08:09 PM Posted Monday at 08:09 PM There’s something weird about the bumper/“spoiler” on that one. “The styling was everything the TR7 should have been” is just not true with those awful impact bumpers, which can only have been for the US market. I wonder it there’s a thriving aftermarket in parts to make it look as Harris Mann intended… beat, M.
Earl Marischal Posted yesterday at 05:41 AM Posted yesterday at 05:41 AM You’re right about those bumpers @Matt Bacon They never did any car a favour. Even so, to my eyes the design never worked in either open or closed format. As for aftermarket, I doubt there’s enough left to make one viable. steve 1
DonW Posted yesterday at 11:18 AM Posted yesterday at 11:18 AM In my opinion the TR7 with or without a roof is utterly dreadful in every way. But I'm surprised how few of us got it - it is certainly as striking as the workforce at British Leyland!😊 1 1
SSNJim Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I just wonder what happened to all the TR7 garages out there....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrgF38F_qw0 1
