Kanada Kustoms Posted October 21 Posted October 21 The bumper brackets look great.. The whole project is coming along nicely!
absmiami Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Yup - how many of these cuties did Cord produce / sell ??
Pico Posted October 22 Author Posted October 22 Andy - about 5000 were built. About 150 still exist. The car I am modelling is the only one in this body style and it "disappeared". I have not been able to find out how it disappeared. Returned to the factory and used to be rebuilt in a different body style? Stolen? Big mystery. Two replicas of it have been built.
Pico Posted October 23 Author Posted October 23 Woodlites! These are the only thing I did not design. They were purchased from Ditomaso147 on Cults3d: 🚗 Woodlite headlight with separated lense・ STL File for 3D printing・Cults . However, they were not correct - the lens had too sharp a "V" at the bottom. I emailed the designer about changing it to a better design and within an hour he responded. The next day he sent me the improved design - a broader, fuller lower "bucket" and an "eyebrow" over the lens. It was much improved. He has several thousand designs, check them out; I'm certain you will be satisfied with his service, too. 4
Bugatti Fan Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Lovely looking classic car.thread I have been following this thread and it makes a nice change from all those customised and rodded models that dominate on this forum.
89AKurt Posted October 29 Posted October 29 I just pulled up a chair.... 😳 So there is a limit on curves, putty to the rescue.

Big Messer Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) You may want to replace the radiator struts, they seem to be too large: https://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/news/gallery/this-certified-1931-cord-l-29-cabriolet-has-enough-room-for-both-you-and-your-golf-clubs_24.jpg https://c8.alamy.com/comp/2WXMRG1/the-1929-cord-l-29-inline-8-engine-2WXMRG1.jpg https://topworldauto.com/photos/0d/12/cord-l-29-lagrande-boattail-speedster-replica-to-cross-the-block.jpg Edited October 31 by Big Messer added info
Pico Posted Sunday at 04:32 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:32 PM Big Messer - they are too big. resin has a tendency to expand and I wanted to strengthen that area with brass struts. These were the smallest I had.
