Here's my Revell 1939 Chevy Sedan Delivery that was built as a tribute to our beloved Basset Hound Ginger, who crossed over the bridge on Sept. 6. It's painted in Folkart Metallic White Pearl and Chroma Molten Metals Copper with a couple of drops of Apple Barrel Black to darken it a bit. I used Kaleido Colorworks Gloss Varnish that was wet-sanded, polished, and waxed for the shine. I carried the color scheme throughout the car. I used embossing powder to simulate carpet and added spark plug wires for added detail. The wheels and tires are from Mean Machine on eBay. It was lacking a bit in details with the noticeable exclusion of door panels, which really probably can't be seen once completed but the builder knows they're missing. All in all though, it was a pretty decent kit and pretty fun to build with some cool looking decals that I hope to use on another project. As always, thanks for looking!

nice tribute sweet build-did you have any trouble with paint being pulled up with tape when using craft acrylics-thanks

Thanks Bill! I've never had a problem with tape lifting the acrylic paints. I always use primer, so I'm pretty sure that's a good reason for the paint not lifting. In fact, a lot of the time I will tape over the paint after as little as 1/2 hour drying time. I also use Tamiya tape for the border with dollar store regular masking tape for the rest of the body with no issues.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved puppy Ginger. Great looking two-tone paint and pin striping.

Cool build.  Nice color combo.  The pinstripe decals are a nice touch.

Thanks guys! The pinstripes are on the kit decal sheet, and I wasn't sure how they would look, but I felt that the areas where I put them really needed something to break up the color.

Nice tribute.

I'm digging this build. Nice colours, and the Chevy looks great with a proper set of tires and wheels. They really transform the look.

Very clean build. I really like the colors you chose.

I have one of these on my desk. If it comes out as clean as yours, Ill be happy
