Hi all! For this build I used the current AMT “John Wick” ‘70 Chevelle SS as a base. I cut off the front headlight buckets and installed Canuck3d supplied front clip with correct “Heavy Chevy” grill as well as the front & rear bumpers. Bench seat & wheels also supplied from Canuck3d. Sanded off all the Chevelle and cowl induction emblems and filled in the cowl induction scoop. Engine is from the ‘86 El Camino kit for the 350 4bbl install. Had to fabricate the exhaust pipes from the manifolds to the kit supplied exhaust. Did my best to correct the interior door panels from the SS to base for the Heavy Chevy package. Decals from Rays Kits. Paint from MCW. Thanks for looking!

Just wow!!! That is stunning. I love the color. I have a Nova in that color.😊 What's your thought on the Decals from Ray's? I've considered ordering from there, but wasn't sure of the quality. Thanks.💯👍

Great looking paint color and finish. Like how you changed this to the Heavy Chevy version. They were a very popular way to get around high insurance rates at the time for anyone under 30 that wanted the look of an SS but at the price of a nice Chevelle. Nice looking interior detailing especially the dash.

Cool Heavy Chevy. My best friend has a 1:1 72 Heavy Chevy. It was born with a 402 BBC and a 4-speed. It now has a WICKED 454 in it. It has been back burnered for a few years getting all kinds of aftermarket suspension upgrades. I built a model of it for him. I told him he can have it when he takes his 1:1 to its first car show.

Awesome Nova! Lime mist is a classic ‘70’s color. I really like Rays products. They are very well done and thorough. You have to cut them exact as they aren’t like the decals in commercial kits. But I am a fan.

Awesome build. It really looks great. I may build a ‘72 in the future but a lot of projects on deck first.
