Nick F40 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) http://www.autoweek.com/article/20090604/F1/906049988 I mean come one, it's bascially what wev'e been saying. One more example of why they, mainly he, are ruining the pinnacle of motorsport and pretty much every other race series that's in FIA. I love it, the teams are thinking like we are, that this is cra p. We need them out! I LOVE the comments, some of the best, the second one is really good. Edited June 5, 2009 by Nick F40
george 53 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) Nick, please for give my stupidity here, but WHO is this guy? Does he own the FIA or somthin, like that nascar jerk does? I agree with the second reply too. He better start sharein, or the other kids'll take their cars an go play amongst themselves! Edited June 5, 2009 by george 53
Guest Davkin Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 You guys that still follow F1 are masochists IMO. I used to be a big motorsports fan, I would watch just about anything but especially F1 and Nascar, would buy all the mags, etc, now I don't watch anything or buy any mags. I got tired of all the politics and the new generation of arrogant, bratty drivers and the general dumbing down of the sport. Nascar is as bad if not worse but in different ways. You may laugh but I'm serious about this statement.....just stop. Stop watching, stop reading, stop spending money....just stop, don't give motorsports any of your attention or resources, it's simply not worth it anymore. I did that a few years ago and don't regret the decision one little bit. David
Guest Davkin Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 George, Mosely is the president of FIA, kinda like that France guy being president of Nascar. David
Guest promodmerc Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I'm starting to think Max Mosely and Brian France are lovers.
george 53 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Thanks Dave. Sure do miss the old Can Am days though.
mr moto Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Max Mosley is a guy who has dillusions of being Tony George and since Indy Car racing is already totally messed up he's gonna do it to F1!
Modelmartin Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 The more things change the more they stay the same. I have been semi-following F1 for some time and can remember when Jean-Marie Balestre was the devil incarnate. Everyone is probably nostalgic to have him back! I say suspend all the rules except crash protection and see what happens!
CAL Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) Max is on crack. He even put Bernie in his place. Now he is systematically dissassembling Formula 1. He is banking on a bunch of Jr teams who don't even have a car yet to fill the grid if the big hitters bail out. Please, I doubt even USGP will come to the 2010 grid with a car. Prodrive? Lola? Astin? Brabham? Whatever, F1 is quickly lossing it's glitter. Edited June 5, 2009 by CAL

SCCA they just keep it going....The june sprints at Elkhart lake and camping at Plymouth Rock....Racing can't get much better!! Then again Friday nite short track and Woo Sprints... Screw F1 and Nascar They will both crash unless they PRICE themselves back onto planet earth!!

Nascar is as bad if not worse but in different ways. David Im in complete agreement. The powers that be have no grasp on reality. F1 is being fed pablum. Must be following the tradition of nascar. Competiton? heck no! We need to even the playing field. Those that have need to share with those that dont. Yea, right....... And those bratty drivers-do you think there are true motorsports fans who root for them? Robby Gordon has an "attitude", while Kyle Busch is just a littlle snot. Just my opinon.
LUKE'57 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Must be following the tradition of nascar. I think you are wrong there. The very FIRST thing that "Baby Brian" tossed in the dumpster was tradition!
Tommy Kortman Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I think you are wrong there. The very FIRST thing that "Baby Brian" tossed in the dumpster was tradition! Bravo!!! Big Bill (God rest his soul) has got to be doing back-flips in his grave to see what his grandson has done to this (NASCAR) sport. I was the biggest fan. I went to Dover and Pocono 2x times a year each. I never missed a race on TV. I have worked in the Pits at Charlotte & Richmond for a couple of Sportsman (now defunct series) events as a gasman. I have held a NASCAR competition License in the Late Model division. But after Earnhardt died, and the powers that be started all this chase BS, and that locked in Qualifying junk. The series just went down hill. I mean they pulled the Southern 500 from Darlington on Labor day just to give a second date to Calif. so the NASCAR Brass could party with Hollywood pretty people. They abandoned the fans that took them to the top in popularity. And dont get me started on this POS they call the car of tomorrow. Now the NHRA looks like they are trying to kill themselves as well. First with this Chase nonsense too, then the petty stuff about the Nitro supply, and finally the 1000 foot racing junk. I think if you look at all of the racing series that are trying to screw themselves out of existence (F1 included), they are all being run by Greedy money-hungry corporate bean counters. They should be run by RACE FANS!!! If they worried more about putting on a good show for us (the fans), I think they would find their series thriving again. That reminds me...does anyone know where you would send an e-mail to so that you could tell NASCAR, NHRA, F1, etc what we the fans think about what they have done to thier respective series?

I did that a few years ago and don't regret the decision one little bit. David I did that with F1. Last year did me in, possibly for good. I might return if F1 returns to North America and if Bernie and Max are long gone from the series. I quit watching the year of the Indy tire fiasco, but watched again the following year. I won't stop watching all motorsports, that would be crazy. There's still sports car racing like SCCA, the ALMS, Rolex series, the occasional Speed Challenge races, they're worth catching. Can't wait for the upcoming weekend and the biggest race of all, the 24 Hours of LeMans.

Prodrive just lauhgs at all this considering the rising success of GT racing, mainly FIA GT, that series is becoming better and better. Aston, doubt it, Lola doesn't need this, and Brabham just said in an interview that he or his family has nothing to do with this claim, he isn't and wasn't thinking of rejoining F1, I wonder why?? I did that with F1. Last year did me in, possibly for good. I might return if F1 returns to North America and if Bernie and Max are long gone from the series. IRC and even RallyAmerica is good for rally, since WRC is screwed over. LeMans is going to be amazing. New entries for the Speed World Challenge with Maserati thinking about joining. Jaguar now enters in ALMS with Gentilozzi, which is now 7 different manufactures. GT racing is the bees knees.
Joe Handley Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I've all but stopped watching NA$CAR and never really had much intrest in F1, I kinda wish more road racing was on any channel other than Speed (don't get it here ) and did finally get a chance to watch a TORQ race (it replaced CORR and in now sponsored mainly by Traxxas RC and AMSOIL) for the first time and I have to admit I kinda dig that........................and no, it's not just because I'm a Traxxas nut
