krishna.iskandana Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Hello, these are two classic volkswagens, a karmann ghia coupe and a beetle 1300 s. Both of them are from tamiya. Let me know what you think and Thanks for looking. Cheers Krishna Iskandana Perth, WA
87 Grand Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Love those old VW's. Beautiful paint and detail work. Great looking kits. I like the simple style of the bug. Nice and clean, just like it was brand new from the assembly line. Great job.
cruz Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 VW's are among my favorite modeling subjects, you just cannot go wrong when building these Tamiya brand kits. You did a terrific job on these two!!!
MrObsessive Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 MMMMM............I love Karmann Ghias!! ;) Yours is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! That Beetle is no slouch either.........super duper clean the way they were meant to be built!
Foxer Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Glad to see a Karmann that made it to the table without the front signal lights being stolen to do a backdated bus! Both paint jobs are great along with the cleanness of the builds!
MonoPed Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 The "Bug" is nice, but that Karman is just too cool!! Nice builds both!!
sjordan2 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 The "Bug" is nice, but that Karman is just too cool!! Nice builds both!! Beautiful paint on the Karmann Ghia. What is it? I assume it's a pearl since there's no visible metal flake.
Harry P. Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 You did a great job on both of those. Russell Except for the rear glass on the Bug. I know, I know, "If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all"... But with such obvious attention to detail and extremely clean build style, how did that get past you? Very nice work though. I like the 2-tone Beetle color scheme, and the paintwork is very well done on both cars.
RodneyBad Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Great looking pair of VWs.. You did an Excellent job on both.. What's wrong with the rear window of the Bug? Looks polished. Do you mean front windshield? Must have hit a bug
Harry P. Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 What's wrong with the rear window of the Bug? Huge gap between the glass and the body...
RodneyBad Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Huge gap between the glass and the body... WOW! what an Eye for detail. I need glasses or a bigger screen Is the front window cracked or am I seeing something else? My Mozilla FireFox doesn't have the magnification option like Internet Explorer does (that I don't use anywhoo)
krishna.iskandana Posted July 11, 2009 Author Posted July 11, 2009 Huge gap between the glass and the body... yap.....guilty as charged...... there were gaps between front and rear glass and the body , I didn't notice that when I took that picture. Well, I have to be patient for quite some time to fix that irritating error, because right now I'm in Australia, whereas i left my completed models back home. Thanks for bringing that to my attention Cheers Krishna Iskandana Perth, WA
VW Dave Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Those are two of my favorite VW kits, and you did a great job on both. I really like the color on the Ghia as well, and I'm curious what paint you used. Picking out the Beetle's fender beading in black is a nice touch, and not an easy task.
exakto Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 ya. my mom always wanted ghia growin up, ya know, but the two tone bug is gay. sorry , so no afence if you are.
davyou5 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Two Excellent Volkwagen Builds! Exceptional Job! .
bsoder Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 They're both excellent, but I REALLY dig that bug!!!!...that 2 tone paint looks killer
MikeeD Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Krishna...first of all...both of those came out great...good work. Ya gotta love those vdub's...I know I do A question about those kits...do the engine and transaxles come separate, or are they molded into the chassis? I've been looking for a vw kit with a detailed engine and transaxle to use as a donor kit to build a replica of my trike, and I just don't have the skills to scratch build one.
GeeBee Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Very nice builds, they both looking stunning, I do like the two tone paint on the beetle, well done.
Tony T Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Both are very nice! The errors show up when you put the pictures on line!!
David G. Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 ya. my mom always wanted ghia growin up, ya know, but the two tone bug is gay. sorry , so no afence if you are. Can somebody please explain to me how an automobile can have a sexual orientation, or is this meant to be some sort of an insult? I think the cars look great! Both are clean, straight builds- good color choice, paint and detail. Regards, David G.
