Dave42 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) Finally remembered to take pics on a Saturday...probably the last Saturday for this build. Clear the bench and on to the next! http://public.fotki....bench-saturday/ PS...I like that Nova Chuck! Edited November 19, 2011 by Dave42
Olskoolrodder Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I'm just gearing up for the next build,so no real juicy WIP pics on my bench today...

W-409 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 It seems to be saturday evening, so I might post one picture here too. I'm currently working on '59 Triumph Herald Pro Street. Here's one Mock up picture of it, I'm not so far yet with the progress, but anyway I've got something done. It's restore of glue bomb.
Tony T Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Just got the contingencies left to go! (Mono T-Bird #21 Citgo, aftermarket stickers bought in 93! are attached) Box stock, white spray can, Testor's orange brush paint...mixed up the grey chassis paint with a dark grey and white to lighten it up (didn't have any light grey paint on hand!)
Darren B Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Thanks for that Chuck, but you were the inspiration for this build. I've seen the quality of your stuff, & a comment like that is very gratifying indeed... I'll post a few more pix of the progress on the plow & tractor since last week, but I don't feel this is the appropriate section for a WIP... I'll start a new WIP where everyone thinks it is most suitable... So where is that? Here in the 'On the workbench' section, or in the 'Other models' section?............ I didn't realize that the little brackets & levers were going to be so fiddly, otherwise I may have just opted for a simple, tractor mounted 3 point linkage plow... If only I hadn't found those wheels in the parts box...... The tractor itself has stalled momentarily (due to a rush of inspiration on the plow), but it's still ticking along. The plow's close to being finished (bar painting & weathering), so once that happens it will be full steam ahead again on the tractor... Havent seen this yet, man this thing is insane and sick all at the same time, is it completely scratch built? Awesome work and a lot of work indeed!
Darren B Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 played with spoons trying out the new humbrol maskol with a new tape i got Test looks killer, I have a question what is maskol? Like a liquid masking material?
Nick Notarangelo Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Hey Guy's, It's Sunday night, but thought I'd share my Work Bench anyway. I used a good quality Computer Cabinet and converted it into my Model Car Garage. I can close it up to blend in with the home office. Hope you enjoy. Tony Now thats a cool setup
gasser59 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Oh this is fun and thought it was about time I added a few pics myself. I'm envious of most of your work spaces. I can't seem to keep mine clean and organized. Maybe too many hobbies trying to occupy the same hobby room. On my bench right now is the AA/FA Fiat Topolino. I'm trying to figure out the paint scheme so that's the print out on the left.
Tom Setzer Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) This is the present state of my work area. The Model kits in the pictures are my presnt projects, I keep all of the non body,and/or chassis parts in ziplocks in the kit boxes, the bodies, and chassis are stored it the plastic drawer cases under the table, seting on sheets of glass to keep them straight! No matter how much I try to keep the area neat, it ends up with parts and tools where they shouldn't be. I also have a hardwood work bench with my anvil, and steel plate, plus my Jigsaw, and mitre saw. My present projects are: 1930s A model Gow Job, with a hopped up 4 Banger. Late 30s 32 Ford Roadster with a hopped up 21 stud Flathead. Late 60s 32 Ford Roadster Street Rod I needed a change. Traditional Chopped T Coupe, with a Nailhead. Tony-442 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Now thats a cool setup Thanks Man.. I had the same set up in a different cabinet before. I have it now so that just about everything I need is in there, I just hate having to keep it clean during a build. You know how messy they can get! Cheers Tony
Lownslow Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Test looks killer, I have a question what is maskol? Like a liquid masking material? yup, only well stocked shops or online sell them
Dr. Cranky Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Cool, I gotta check out some. You spray it through the AB?
Lownslow Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Cool, I gotta check out some. You spray it through the AB? its thin enough to but havent tried
Dr. Cranky Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Thanks. I guess you can apply it with a brush, draw your design on there, then cut it carefully with an extra sharp hobby knife.
Greg Pugh Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I told the wifey that this weekend was "model car weekend" and that the boys and I were doing nothing but working on models all weekend. It worked out perfectly as this gave her a chance to go Xmas shopping. My desk is in the background. It's been a blast so far. Still have a day to go!! This is what the party looked like today...
Dr. Cranky Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 That's a great picture. A new generation of model builders in the making!
Greg Pugh Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 They both were finishing up models that were in the works when this photo was taken this morning and they both finished their models within 10 minutes of each other. It was pretty funny. The glue wasn't dry yet on the last detail and they both had the next project going. More pictures coming tomorrow I'm sure. They're animals!!
spkgibson Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 (edited) Thats really cool, I love seeing things like this. Keep them going on the models. Edited December 4, 2011 by spkgibson
Skydime Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) I have a 7 year old daughter and I help her put together snap kits. She loves Camaros but, daddy didn't like having to spray a 1969 muscle car pink. (The things we do for our kids) Its great to see the tradition being passed on. Edited December 5, 2011 by Skydime

You could just call it a "VERY BRIGHT RED!"?
Dr. Cranky Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Whatever it takes to keep them building and enjoying the hobby, right?
