curt raitz Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 Page three "that's all folks" thanx for lookin'
crispy Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Curt, I love your stuff! Especially the sports cars and racing stuff. Looks like you are a really well rounded modeler with all subjects. Built a lot of stuff! I'm hoping to finish one more before the year is out. Shouldn't be too long now with my last one. Chris
Sixties Sam Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Nice collection of models, Curt! All very good lookers! The bikes are really well done. I've built a few motorcycle models, and they are tough to build with so many spindly parts, cables, brake lines etc. My patience wears thin on them! Nice job!
Harold Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 You did these all this year? Wow! You really have some great builds there. My favorites are the '56 Nomad, the Cougar Eliminator and the Torino GT. Really really really nice .
caine440 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Great Stuff! You can build them all! Very well done.
RJWood Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Great stuff Curt, 33 built models in one year is incredible, but even more incredible is they all are built to contest winning quality. You da man, Curt. I would love to have them on my shelf. Congratulations on another great year. Can't wait to see what 2010 brings.
vizio93 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 DANG!!! 33 builds this year ! WOW. They all look really good too.
charlie8575 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Quality and quantity! Very nice. That Bugatti was especially impressive from a build standpoint, and all look great. Nice job, Curt. Charlie Larkin
MikeMc Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I stand humbled and awestruck with both the quantity and quality Thanks for some great ones!!!
oldscool Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 What a fine group of models! I would be proud of any one of them. oldscool
Jason Vandergriff Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Boy does the yellow camaro stand out.
935k3 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Absolutely fantastic builds. How do you do so many that well in a year? Absolutely amazing! Is the Ferrari 312T the Tamiya 1/12 0r the Hasegawa 1/20? What Red did you use on the Little Red Wagon? Edited December 18, 2009 by 935k3
Bernard Kron Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I'm glad somebody else counted them because I sure couldn't! The Bugatti was a terrific send off to '09 which must have gone down as a vintage year for you. I know I certainly enjoyed so many of the models you created in the past 12 months. The variety and virtuosity are aspects of your work which I always look to with anticipation. As our mutual friend always says...Thanks for sharing! And I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what comes off your bench in 2010. All the best this holiday season, B.
curt raitz Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 Absolutely fantastic builds. How do you do so many that well in a year? Absolutely amazing! Is the Ferrari 312T the Tamiya 1/12 0r the Hasegawa 1/20? What Red did you use on the Little Red Wagon? The Ferrari 312T is the 1/12 Tamiya kit and the paint on the Little Red Wagon is Scalefinishes 1965 Dodge Red Metallic (http://www.scalefinishes.com) Raul Perez is convinced I have "elves" in the garage... It doesn't seem that I build that many til the end of the year when I look back at what Ive turned out...this year was the most I've usually got 3-4 models on the bench at the same time, don't watch much TV and have a very supportive and loving spouse...plus a lot of modeling buddies that keep me pumped up about building Thanx for all of the positive comments
jbwelda Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 wow thats a lot of building!!! amazing! really love that wooly bully and that xk120! they all look fantastic though! man i got to get back on my workbench!
Raul_Perez Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Curt, my old friend, that is one fine collection of models!! Let's see...you built 33, I built 4...hmmm...how much are you paying those elves?! I can hardly wait to see them all lined up at the NNL West. We'll reserve a table just for you!! Later,
DanRaitz Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Great Builds, Bro. Hopefully after Kari & I get done with this kitchen remodel, I can get back to my workbench. Dan
Randy Kern Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Curt, they are all great builds, with fantastic detailing. Raul is right, you got the elves working overtime! I was glad to get five done, with Chumley the Pug always pesting me
Tony T Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Very impressive, quality and quantity! Congrats on some fine work!
Peter Lombardo Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 "Get out of town"....you did 33 in one year? That is just short of 3 a month....that is one new build every eleven days...that is insane! Especially at the quality level your building is at. Do you eat? Do you sleep? Do you work?(you know, work like in "get a paycheck")...have you ever seen a "Honeydo" list? I completed 8 builds and I average about 28 hours a week...more in the winter, less in the summer...how many hours do you put into this "hobby" of yours....can we even call it a hobby with you at the volume you are turning out.... I think it is more like an obsession. Is your next door neighbor running a "Meth" lab or something and you are down wind of it? (kidding). Anyway, very impressive, especially because the quality does not suffer because of the volume...As I said before, your "Blue Tank" is a masterpiece of scratchbuilding....and to think it only took eleven days....amazing. Seriously, very impressive work, Curt.
