evilone Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I present second chance it is a 1959 cadillac high top ambulance made by jimmy flintstone i have had it for about three years and promised myself that i would wait till i thought i had enough skills to work on it the mold is perfection (revell and amt should take notes from this manufacturer) and there are no flaws in it at all. Here are the pics
Harry P. Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 That's a lot of scratchbuilt hinges you've set yourself up for!
Brokentail58 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 what are your plans for it ? Stock ambulance of some kind or custom, maybe monster truck ambulance.
Chuck Most Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Holy hinges! Or should I say, in your case, UNholy hinges? This one's going to be killer, indeed.
Railfreak78 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Nice! I like the high top and the suicide doors. I'm certainly watching!

RodneyBad Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Cool looking Interior. Is that just thin Foam you scored or did it come that way? I'll keep a sharp on on this so I can get mine finished

DanielG Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 When I first looked at your pics I could not figure out what kind of ambulance you were trying to build and then realized it was going to be a custom (after going back and rereading!). Will be keeping an eye on this build.
Chuck Most Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 can't wait its actually made from foam plates that i scored Careful when you go to paint it- some paints will eat foam. I'd reccomend acrylics.
evilone Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Careful when you go to paint it- some paints will eat foam. I'd reccomend acrylics. what brand would you suggest? Ahhhhhhhhhh All is right with the world once again We gots us a custom Caddy Ambulance build by the coustom caddy master himself Welcome back and Rock It Bro!! thanks bro trust me this one will be a challenge for me
evilone Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Can't go wrong with Tamiya. Be careful if you use Gunze, some of their acrylics use a pretty hot solvent. sweet thanks
charlie8575 Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Craft paint is the least-aggressive solvent, you just may need a few coats to achieve the desired depth and evenness of color, although I've been told you can airbrush it if you're so inclined. I've used it a little. It takes a lot of getting used to, but it's good for little details and has a nice variety of colors available, which can come in handy for interiors. Be sure to shake it very thoroughly before attempting to apply it. Charlie Larkin
