tuffone20 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 We close on our new house today!! And if all goes as planed will start moving into it this weekend!! I packed up all of my modeling stuff and won't be able to build for about a month!!!! I hope it won't be that long, but with all the stuff we have to still get packed and then unpacked and I want to put in some garage storage cabinets before I unpack my models so I have a better place to keep them. I know it will be at least a month before I'm building again, oh and I still need to find a new job so who knows it could even be a little longer.... So if any of you that are in Phoenix and are free this weekend and you want to be out in the heat and help me move!! Just send me a PM I'm pretty sure my PM box won't get full with all the replies I'll be getting for offer's to help........
Eric Stone Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 The house is a great reason to put your hobby on hold.. Congrats! And good luck with the job hunt too.
sjordan2 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 If you live in Phoenix, I hope you have an air-conditioned garage for storing your models.

I've been storing my models in the garage for a very long time now and haven't had a problem with the heat getting to them yet.

We'll be here when you get back!

George, you mean you don't want to take a vacation to sunny Arizona!!! I moved out here from Pontiac, MI way back in 1981 and as for getting shot at I'm no where near any of the borders so I think you would be safe as far as that goes... Edited June 9, 2010 by tuffone20

modelhut Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Congratulations on the new home, and I wish you the best in your job search. Moving into a new place is a good reason to take a break from modeling. Plus, I'm sure you're filled with anticipation, setting-up a new work station Rod
Danno Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 When did you start? Did you run out of pre-painted kits?
David G. Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Congratulations! Exciting times ahead for you with your new house. Good luck on the job search.
tuffone20 Posted June 12, 2010 Author Posted June 12, 2010 The other night I posted on here about what had happened on our closing day for the new house and then later I came back and deleted it. Well here is the update, and because someone didn't do their job right! (I say the bank) we are stuck in this house for another 45 days!!!! So we are like 80% packed with no where to go for a while!!!!!!!! I'm having a yard sale this weekend and then I guess I'll unpack some of my modeling stuff and do a little building!! So far this whole 1st home buyer stuff has not been fun for us, but they keep telling us it will get better!!
RodneyBad Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 That sucks when your all ready to go, then put on stand-by. We had a deal almost fall through after all the homes we looked at and decided on the one we wanted, the guy decided not to sell. He didn't want to lose money on the house to pay the commission of the sale to a Realtor. After a week of use being really disappointed (we already payed an inspector to inspect the house(and had it done). Later he did sell the house and we added another 3Gs to the purchase of the house to reroof it. 12yrs later, we are still in that house Good things come to those who wait. Congrats on the house purchase, sorry about the delay tho.
tuffone20 Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 Well we closed on the house yesterday and should be getting the keys some time today so now I can repack my model building stuff up again and start packing up the rest of the house!!! There nothing like moving in the AZ summer!!! Oh boy and it looks like it might rain too!!!!!!!
crazyjim Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Good luck on your move. If you don't want the rain, send it over here. We could use a nice, soft soaking rain.

And thanks it's not going to be fun and with any luck we can get it done in a few days and I can get back to building models.
Greg Cullinan Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Nice post count, you better make another post before you start your move In all seriousness, good luck and congratulations
charlie8575 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I had to go to the closing of my condo with my pink slip. I couldn't weasel out of the sale. Sold it 23 months later at a $30,000 loss. Buying quasi-employed or unemployed is tough. I hope your work situation improves and you enjoy your new house. Charlie Larkin
