dencon Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 My friend Dave Bell built this model F-8 using my resin F-8 items. dave is also the modeler that mastered everything for me. Matt
Guest Johnny Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 That is one beautiful truck! It is one you rarely see 1:1 or in scale replica!
george 53 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 WOW he did a HECK of a job on that rascal!! I really liked the bolts holdin the mudflaps on. That's one tasty lookin lil truck!!! Even the color combo is nice!!! :)
codie27 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Wow, what a cool little truck. Not something that is seen very often. Good work.
mikemodeler Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 That is very nice! All it needs now is a 50's era transport trailer and a load of cars headed to the dealer.
AzTom Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 That is an awesome build. Dave builds some of the best models I have ever seen. I'm going to have to put this resin kit on my to do list. I do have a question, Is the red battery cable correct, being positive ground? AzTom
dencon Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 (edited) Thanks guys. I will let Dave know. I just saw this finished model yesterday, and was blown away. There is a list of what is resin on this model. Cab Fenders bumper running boards Bed in Sleeper Cab wheels tires (Hard Black resin) Tanks Complete tandum axle rear suspension Complete front suspension engine, all of it Air Brake Compressor The Frame was scratch built off of the front of the F-1 kit frame. There is a complete instruction booklet that comes with the fenders on how to make this frame. All with photos of this frame being constructed. The nuts and bolts come from Tichy Train Co. The BEST styrene nuts and bolts I have ever seen on the market and they are very reasonable in price. Tom, I have no idea about the Bat cable.LOL Edited September 13, 2010 by dencon
Raul_Perez Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Very nicely built!! GREAT subject matter, too!! Thanks for sharing,
Fuel Coupe Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Matt, This is great. I gotta get one of these..... It would make a great car hauler....
89cxsport Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) That model blows my mind. I had a 1:1 F-6 truck that I used for parts for a someday project, and while doing some research on those old bonus built trucks I ran across an article about a real F-8 with sleeper and if memory serves this model comes real close to the real thing. After some searching on the web I found the page here's a link Sleeper Truck Edited October 2, 2010 by 89cxsport
Chuck Most Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (Too busy drooling, rubbing my hands together, and giggling like a little girl to say anything coherent...)
roadhawg Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) I must agree with everyone else, that is AWESOME! I do have a question, Is the red battery cable correct, being positive ground? AzTom Yes, that is correct. I believe ALL Ford trucks before 1955 were positive ground. A lot of Macks used positive ground too. Edited October 2, 2010 by roadhawg
David G. Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 That's about as good as it gets- awesome work!
