I thought I would show you guys this one. I just finished it up and I'm real happy with it. I built this one right out of the box with just the addition of the Scale Motorsports carbon fiber decal used on the roof, rockers and front splitter. I used Tamia spray paints on this one. The clear did react with the testors black basecoat that I put under the carbon fiber decal. It wrinkled up mildly. I added a few more coats of clear to the roof and hid it. I used Testors model master clear for the second coats. Also I did have a problem with the hood hinge support peice that goes under the nose. It hit the aircleaner inlet tube and had to be notched for the chassis to sit in the body. All comments are welcome.

Awesome job, Raoul! That color is great and your carbon fiber work looks top notch! This is my next project after my SWC Willys, and seeing yours has definitely got me stoked about building this kit! Thanks for sharing. Ed

Very nice, glad to see one built so soon

Your issues w/the intake/hood hinge are common amongst all the 'Vette glue kits; happened to me when I built a Z06 and I heard a lot about it when people were building the earlier C6's.

I've almost convinced myself to build one in yellow w/black wheels as sort of an homage to the C6R's. We shall see...I haven't even seen the kit yet, but haven't gone looking for it.

Hey Raoul, very nice job on her. I like your color choice....Vetts, always look great in blue. I just picked up this kit and plan on building it as a race car. Not a heavy duty Daytona or Le Mans style racer, but a "club" racer, like what the Viper ACRX is intended for. I am currently converting a Viper ACR into an ACRX for club racing and I want to have a Covette ZR1 "X" to go with it and then an Audi R8 "X" also. Anyway, you did a very nice job on yours. I will have to watch those hood hinges....thanks for the heads up. :D

VERY nice-looking Vette, Raoul! Love the color!

Is it true the RoG version of this kit includes the carbon fiber decals for the roof and rockers while the U.S. version doesn't? If so, that's a jeer to Revell, in my book.

That's a possibility, because RoG boxes are the horrible flat end-opening style, they can fit larger decal sheets inside.

Thank you guy's. I don't have the can of Tamia paint so I don't have the TS# for it. I beleive it was called Mica Blue. The Carbon Fiber decals are Scale Motorsport Hi- Def #1524. This was a quick build that I enjoyed. It took me 3 weeks in my spare time to build it.

The Vette looks Awesome!!

Paint and CF looks great on it, can't see any issues with them at all..

Super job..

Glad I found them at a store for only $13..

I only got a couple last week and you've already got one built, ###### unfair.

When I do get around to building one I just hope that it turns out as well as yours did. Good work!!!

I hope Revell sell enough of them to convince management to do up a model of the new Grand Sport.

Me either, my hobby store always gets stuff in late.

Yeah not even Michaels has received anything new yet. I will probably use a 50% off coupon on it and another 50% off on the Audi R8 when they come in. Two for the price of one !!! B)
