Clay Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) Well guys, I have been working on this one for about a week, tweaking this, shaving that, and this is where I am at. I shaved the hood, getting rid of the rib going down the center, got rid of the front emblem too. Hinged the hood, used the last of my brass rods though Lowered the front and rear suspension. Let me know what you guys think. Edited December 20, 2010 by Clay
Nick Winter Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Looks pretty cool so far Clay, glad to see I'm not the only one who has removed the center rib from the hood.
Clay Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 I dont mind it, I was just wanting a cleaner look. I hope to get the chassis in paint soon.
george 53 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Clay, where'd ya get the suspension? Is that the suspension that comes with that kit? It looks good so far.
Clay Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 Yes its the suspension that comes with it.
Clay Posted December 12, 2010 Author Posted December 12, 2010 I keep forgetting that I posted this in the truck forum.... OK need some help with this, ordered some paint. Its between Nassau(?) Blue and Sublime Green. Here are a few examples of each color.
crazyjim Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I like the way you hinged the hood forward, Clay. I have a '56 Effie on the wrokbench and I need to try a hinge like yours.

Jared Roach Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I also think the blue will look better on your truck, it's looking good.
Clay Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 Got paint on it, not sure if I want to do a gloss or dull coat.
Clay Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) I am still debating. Not sure yet. I will have to see what it looks like on the wheels and tires I have picked out. Edited December 20, 2010 by Clay
Nick Winter Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Paint looks great, although that trailer has some issues
Clay Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 I think I am going to stay with a dull cote.
Jim B Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I like the dulled blue. I might have to use this, too!
Clay Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Sprayed the dull cote, I like it. I see that the bed or cab is crooked, I will have to find out why that is tomorrow.
Clay Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Paint looks great, although that trailer has some issues Yeah I have no idea why I have been putting it on there for pictures... I could have at least picked the nice one.
mikemodeler Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 You are really cranking them out Clay, this one looks great! I would think you would have the models packed up for the move North by now but am glad that you haven't ! Keep them coming, I need some motivation! Thanks again for your service and have a Merry Christmas.

Clay Posted December 25, 2010 Author Posted December 25, 2010 Little update, Finished this for the truck
crazyjim Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Are you going to finish the inside of the trailer and make a diorama thing out of it? There's a good post on here somewhere (I don't search so good) about making a hitch receiver for the truck if you don't have one already.
Foxer Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I DO like that blue, but the paint shop needs to get that trailer cleaned up if they want repeat business on these customs!
