...

Maybe Trumpeter should do a 'Throwback' series for their next car kit. Slab chassis, metal axles, sealed hood, the whole deal.

That'd still be $40.

I agree too, Dave.

And guys, knock it off.

This is all about me.

What part of that do you not get?

It's my build, my thread, yet all you do is bash and bash away.

I don't understand what goes on here sometimes.

I know, I know, I'll get a lot more hate mail now, but that's okay, I love SPAM

Should be pau with the Bare-Metal Foil today, I hope.

Hurry up and finish Greg, so we can have something else to talk about!

If that's how you feel, cool ... nothing wrong with that at all. Buy the kit, build it, make it look great and display it proudly on your shelf. However, that doesn't mean your opinion on the kit is the definitive one, and it doesn't mean those of us who have different opinions of it and choose to express them are wrong, either.

As someone else stated, if you don't like or can't handle reading opinions that differ from yours then ... don't. You have an ignore list, like every other person who posts here. Use it.

Ken it's not the differing opinions I am arguing. It just baffles me as to how long this discussion has been going on and everything being said is being repeated for the second and third time...

How this has gone on this long I don't know, Gregg must have some serious patience seeing as this is really his build thread and review.

Does the kit have some issues: YES

Is it over priced: YES

Will I buy one or 2: YES

PERIOD.

A little more than half way done with Bare-Metal Foil.

I also moved this topic/thread to On The Workbench, since I had that great idea B)

That looks great! B)

I like how you foiled the whole "spear" area between the side trim strips.

I was wondering how you would feel about that.

I may even go one step further and "Foose" it, where it is roughed up with very very fine sandpaper or polish, to give it a brushed aluminum look, but I can always do that at the end.

Okay, I pau for now, maybe even for today..

I looked over the kit I got today and noticed the following errors in relation to a real 1:1 Falcon:

1- Radio does not work

2- Radiator won't hold standard volume of water

3- Engine block won't hold a quart of motor oil, much less a full change

4- Heater does not work

5- Horn makes no sound

6- Dead Battery

There are others......

Gregg, the paint and foil work look great. The early pictures had black wheels and the more recent pictures look like aluminum. Did I miss something? Did you change the wheels? Also, where did you find the wheels?

Rick, the black rims were the ones I reviewed way back when I think from the Brazil guy, can't remember who/what.

These aluminum rims are from Bob Dudek, and I love them!

I would love to have him do some more, some day.

I didn't go with the black ones because of the fit problem, they are too tall, these smaller ones fit up nice with the "cough cough, """"Stock" suspension.

I won't go into the details of the running gear.

As I alluded to before, I am being a snake :-)

I did the interior panel in the two tone per Harry and everyone else.

But, I broke one of the door locks, they are so fragile.

Actually the radiator is the wrong shape, so it won't even hold the correct scale volume of water, haha. But this is Gregg's thread so I really don't want to get into all that . . .

I'm voting for the 'brushed' look myself, can't say I've ever seen a Falcon's flanks done up that way, but it would look cool.

A Falcon has flanks?

Is that where he keeps his sidefeathers?

I'm digging how this is coming along. I personally thinks it awesome to have the owner/editor of the mag building anything. I don't know how many times I've walked into a hobby shop, shot the bull with the owner or the guy behind the counter and been shocked to find that they don't build at all. How can you really know your products or even get excited about them if you don't have any experience? Needless to say, none of them that I'm aware of are still in business.

Looking B) and definitely do the brushed look on the side trim. If you change your name to Gregg Foose, you'll have to fill the side mirror holes as Foose hates side mirrors

Gregg, this is looking good to me, and I'm glad to see you posting builds again, the main Problem I see with this build is it's not on MY shelf- HA-HA, Keep building Boss man

If someone were to build one to show how good it looks, then I would probably go with a black over orange paint, and some wide 20+ wheels.

Wait. What?
