Fatbear Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 (edited) hi Romell I'm new to the forum and had the luck to see this tread first. No idea what is hidden elsewhere on the forum, but I bet wont be better than your work. Congrats! I have a question: I'm starting with metal (also got a mill & lathe) and want to learn to solder. I noticed you talked about a gun to solder? Whats that? I only know the soldering iron I use for electronics and torches... Cant wait to see the next steps on your build! {}Fatbear (Sylvio Deutsch) Edited July 21, 2011 by Fatbear

FASTBACK340 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 What's "P/M" mean? P/M usually means Private Message, or e-mailing the poster directly through the forum. I myself was wondering which John he referred to in that post also.... But this Daytona is soooo BITCHIN!
Foxer Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Been awhile since I commented on this and have to give a and thanks for the great show!

Romell R Posted July 23, 2011 Author Posted July 23, 2011 (edited) As I have been criticized for so called "BUMPING" my threads up via thank yous and updates to often, I will take this time to thank you all in one "BUMP". No really i don't care what those guys think and im gonna do what I do regardless of what anyone thinks (as long as it doesnt break forum rules) Who do they think they are anyway? I just don't have any updates right now as i didn't have much bench time this week, and I'm waiting for a couple new tools to get to me so i can work on some new parts. anyway on with the Bumping! LOL! John T. Thx you so much for your compliment and we all know your next Pro Mod will be on point. Virgil I truly look up to your work you are an inspiration and an artist, And I'm trying to get an autographed copy of your book, Can we make that happen? Brett Thx for your sincere compliment bro. Chris Always good to read your comments , and i cant wait to see your next Funny Car update, outstanding work you got going on there. Rick Thx again my friend Richard I would build for you if i had 8 arms as of right now I'm limited with only 2 LOL! and its no big deal to compliment John T's work on this thread Luis Thank you and will do! Ron PM means Pro Modified John He meant John T and thx for your compliment Mike Ive said it before, It's truly my pleasure Edited February 27, 2012 by Romell R
Peter Lombardo Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Wow, this is really over the top. The fuel pump is a nice model unto its self. Very impressive chassis too. This will be a killer build once complete. This is top notch all the way. What else can you say about it....it is just such impressive workmanship.
Romell R Posted July 23, 2011 Author Posted July 23, 2011 (edited) Thx Peter its always a booster to receive such sincere compliments. I had some Ideas for Paint, just thought Id share them with you feel free to add your input on ideas if you like, right now the paint is an empty canvas. ( no pun intended) Was thinking something like this on the sides.... With a steel or chrome flame overlay like this... And maybe whatever wording I have on it done in steel with rivets , like this..... And the entire thing under water like this..... And call the whole thing "Drowning in Horse Power" What do you think???? Edited July 23, 2011 by Aftashox
highway Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 P/M usually means Private Message, or e-mailing the poster directly through the forum. I myself was wondering which John he referred to in that post also.... John, actually in this case the P/M in question is Pro Modified, since the topic is dragsters! If you go back past the post that Ron quoted, there is this post... Romell........your modeling skills floor me ........the ideas and knowledge you have for modeling is amazing.........I don`t think a day has went by that I missed looking at this thread.......this build has come together with great passion ......and I can`t wait to see it finished........I am just about ready to start my next Pro Mod........and believe me .......I will make sure that I make this one right. ...which not only explains the P/M, but also the John being referred to!
Dragracer Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 You hit it on the head highway (Rom got it right too),Thanks. Rom,as for the paint ideas, I like the side paint on the 1st pic,& the lettering style on the Warrior F/C (Fuel Coupe), the underwater looks good too. Can't wait to see what you choose!
Fatbear Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 The soldering gun i speak of is a weller Pro 260/200 watt gun heats up to operating temp in 6 seconds and has lights to brighten your work area. heres a photo of it for ya. Hi Romell Thanks for the info, I'm going after one of these right now! {}Fatbear
Ron a.k.a. Grouchy Pants Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Thanks for the P/M explanation i appreciate it. This thing is going places Romell.
