GTMust Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 This project started when I found some old pictures of motor homes from the 1920's and I had a spare 1/32 scale diecast 1924 Chevy delivery van. Here's what I started with: Removed the van body: And finished up with this: Had fun with it and that's the main thing....... Tony
peter31a Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Wow! Excellent project and great results. If the pics had been in black and white they might have been from back in the day.
Scale-Master Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Is it just me, or does anyone else hear banjos playing? Looks like something I saw at the Henry Ford Museum a while ago...
Modelmartin Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 That looks very prototypical. It also looks like you had fun building it. Very cool.
Sixties Sam Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Tony, that is great! Good design, looks like it could be real. Very nice detail work on the interior. I've built a couple teardrop trailer models, but this is way cooler! Nice job! Sam
GTMust Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 Thanks for the nice comments Guys. I have a bunch of similar kit builds and scratchbuilt 1/32 scale projects that I'd like to post. I've avoided posting stuff in this scale as it doesn't seem to be a popular as 1/25 and 1/24. But now I'm wondering if other members have built in this scale and just how popular it may be? Tony

Tony Scale should not be a factor in what you post. If you hadn't stated a scale I think most of us would have assumed it was 1/24 or 1/25. I have some 1/32 scale models in my collection as well as other scales both larger and smaller than 1/24 & 1/25. As far as popularity in the automotive realm, it is not as popular as it once was, but then 1/43 has even more subjects than 1/24 scale, but not everyone builds in that size either...
charlie8575 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Nice job on that, Tony, and it is definitely something very different. I like it. Charlie Larkin
Danno Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Not bad at all! Good job. And, yes. I hear the banjos, too!
bbowser Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I own a banjo, and it just started playing by itself Seriously, this is great, period perfect. I agree, scale doesn't matter. The fact that it's a smaller scale just makes it more impressive!
sjordan2 Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Very, very nice. I saw your posts on this build on the hobbygroup board and really enjoyed looking at your pictures of original 1920s motor homes.
David G. Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 This is just too cool! Great subject and well executed. David G.
