Beautiful! All thumbs way up!

But why Duplicolor paint and Rustoleum clear? Why not stick with Duplicolor all the way? Just curious...

BTW... is that thin side trim BMF? It's so clean and precise... wondering how you got such a great effect.

Oh, one last thing. Engine shots?

As a BMF " Junkie" I also wish to know your technique. With my 1960 Starliner almost ready to be revealed I'd like your take on BMF application.

Very smoooooooth indeed sir.

I've heard this is a good model to work with, but your painting abilities really bring it to life! Somewhere William Lyons is smiling.

Note to self: You're going to have to try Dupli-Color

Wow. That is clean, sharp, correct looking. Great work!

(I still wonder why people quote and therefore repeat-post all the pictures from the previous thread?) Especially the first response? Literally has me scratching my head...

But I digress, again, beautiful job on that Jag!

Beautiful model, Curtis. That's one to be proud of!

I appologize for the theatrics in your topic. Some people find drama where ever they look. Sorry it happened here.

The problem with people "quoting" photos is because the software is kind of tricky.

If you click the "Reply" button between the "Edit" and "Multiquote" buttons at the bottom of a person's post, you're actually going to be quoting that post (and all the photos, if any) in your reply.

To make a reply without quoting the post, you need to click on the "Add Reply" button at the very bottom of the page.

It's pretty confusing... that "Reply" button probably should say "Quote" instead.

I'm sure that most people who "quote" the photos of an earlier post had no intention of doing that.

Thanks for the model-related responses, everybody. It was a mostly fun build but it did cause me consternation more than once. I'd originally painted it to resemble the Jaguar on the Inspector Morse television series, but then I did something stupid (I don't remember what) and had to strip it. Why mix Duplicolor and Rustoleum? Well, Harry, I'm a risk taker! Extreme Modeling, I call it. Actually, I really like the Rustoleum clear and am trying it out in different ways to test its compatibility. It is excellent and I highly recommend it to others.

All the window trim is BMF. The metal transfer trim looks great, but the pieces that conform to curves tend to lift. I applied a little of Microscale's foil adhesive with a paint brush then pressed them back into place. It might take more than one application if you want to try this at home.

And, since you asked:

Harry, there is a third way and I use it when I only wish to address one point. I hope this is not confusing: I use the MS editing features we are ingrained to use (Thank Bill Gates if you want). I hi-lite and delete those points I do not want to address. I deleted part of your original quote as an example. Deleting photos works the same as deleting text. I'm glad I got today's good deed out of the way early.

Yes, you're right... you can click "Reply," then delete whatever part of the previous post you DON'T want to quote.

But if you want to just reply to a post, and not quote anything, the "Add Reply" button down at the bottom of the page is the way to do it.

And as far as the model goes... thanks for the reply, Chilly! :)

It looks great, Rustoleum and all!

Aaahhh! That's a beautiful Jag Curtis.....and in a BEAUTIFUL color! The looks alone can sway anyone that's into cars as art! It looks like it just oooozes down the road. :)

It's a real treat to see a car with the style and class of a Jaguar done up so nice. You could not have picked a better color.

I added a couple of details today.

The metal transfers to the trunk lid, which look really good:

And the Jaguar decal on the grille:

And here are a couple of nice shots without the macro setting:

Hard to get better than that. Beautiful paint, and those are great metal transfers. I wish I could find wire wheels as nice as that in 1/25 for my Maserati 3500 GTi, but the photoetched versions are too large. The differences between 1/24 and 1/25 aftermarket parts are much greater than I expected.
