Thor Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Hi I just completed this one. A 1961 Chevrolet Impala 2dht buildt from a lindberg kit mostly out of the box. changed the valve cover for better looking one from a amt 58 impala and wheels from parts box. First try on PE inside and outside.
exnyman Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Looks exceptionally nice! Love the color combination. And your foiling job is outstanding! I was building one of these but got stalled because the foiling didn't come out right, then I broke one of the rear axle shafts tring to put the tires on, so I set it all aside for a while.
Mike Kucaba Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Very nicely done and your spark plug wires look more in scale than some I see.
Ryan S. Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 That's a beautiful build you got there. Nothing not to like about this one! Fantastic!
brett Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Great job Thor, that's come out great, the subtle weathering on the chassis/floor is perfect
Sixties Sam Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 VERY nice! Great colors and workmanship. Love the bubble top Chevy's! Sam
Steve Keck Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Very nice, Thor! Very, very nice! Glass is exceptional. Clean!
LAone Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 looks great. i still have my impala that i built over 10 years ago. i plan to do a little resto, especially after seeing this one. again, it looks great.
Thor Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Thank you for very nice comments. greatly appreciated.
W-409 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 409 looks really amazing! Just like real. The color of it seems to be pretty nice and detailing is great. I like that air cleaner. Looks like, it can be looking good when painted black. Model is nicely built anyway, but I'm not a fan of those wheels, especially under X-Frame Chevy. (not an personal attack.) It's nicely built anyway.
Danno Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Sweet! (Emoticon indicating "She's Real Fine, My 4-0-9" here.)
Janne Herajärvi Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 wow! One fo nicest builds ive seen from that kit
Guest Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Very nice '61 Thor! It has that "just right" look to it. The colors, wheels and engine suit it perfectly. Well done!
crazyjim Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Over the top gorgeous build. I just love SHINY paint. What color is that? Wheel source?
DanielG Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Very nicely done. I am not a fan of the wheels but on this car they look right!
Harry P. Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I love it! So clean and precise... your foil work is outstanding! And I see you made a generator bracket. Many people overlook that detail. Very nice work in every way, a big "thumbs up" from me!
Thor Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Hi. thanks for nice words. Anyway, i had to redo the grill. one of the headlight`s turned black (dont know wy...) But i stripped the kit chrome and cut away the grill for use of the pe grill piece from the MCG set. THis is first time i tried the alclad II. I think it came out nice. http://home.online.no/~ogranhe/artimages/september_2011_018.JPG Edited September 7, 2011 by Thor
